Towards a PP 5990 - A Plan?
What do you think of this idea I have a number of watches but the ones of relevance for this discussion include my PP5164, PP5712 and Panerai PAM 311 (titanium 8 day GMT/Chronograph).I really like the new PP 5990. For me a date, GMT/Chrono are my three most useful complications. I really like the way the PP5164 dual time works. I just got the two PPs this year. I also like my PP5712. I do not buy watches with a plan to sell them but I would love to get the 5990. well I am thinking that I could sell the PP 5164 and PAM 311 (don't wear it as often as my other pieces) and that with some cash might get me there assuming I can get a deal. Since these are only recently released not sure if deals are possible as of yet. Any thoughts ??
DSSD rubber v. bracelet opinions
Threw my RubberB strap with blue line on my DSSD-Blue tonight. It's comfy, but I don't know if it's as comfy as the bracelet. I ended up changing back to the bracelet. Might be more of a weather time of year thing than anything. What are your thoughts? How do you guys feel about the whole rubber strap vs bracelet thing?
36mm Oyster Perpetual vs Datejust
I'm looking at a future purchase for the wife. We've narrowed it down to the Oyster Perpetual 36 and the DateJust 36.For the stainless steel models, the DJ ($6600) is a little more than the OP ($5400), but has more options (dial, bezel, bracelet, etc).My wife doesn't care for the date. On her current watches, she just has me to change the date for her. But, in talking with her, she doesn't mind either of the two watches. My questions are... 1. Is one better than the other in terms of holding its value?2. Is one better than the other in terms of getting a discount?3. For a possible resale later on, is there a big difference in getting the oyster bracelet vs the jubilee bracelet (if we go with the datejust)?4. Lastly, is there anything else I should be thinking about, that I haven't mentioned?
