BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends August 30th
It's the end of August and we take a close look at Panerai's new tourbillon pocket watch and also what some diehard Paneristis think about the direction the brand is taking. Elsewhere, we review IWC's very classy new Portuguese Chronograph Classic, Schofield's exquisite Signalman DLC and Chanel's very shiny J12 Chromatic. Lastly, we check out Ball's stealthy Engineer Hydrocarbon Black and Harry Winston's new watches for this year.1. IWC Portuguese Chronograph Classic Watch Review2013 is the year of the Ingenieur for IWC, but that has not stopped them from updating their Portuguese collection. New for this year is the Portuguese Chronograph Classic, which should not be seen as a replacement for the standard Portuguese Chronograph, but rather as a higher-end alternative. In this article, we detail the differences between the two and tell you all you need to know about this new offering from IWC.Source: watches-dealer2. Bought these on a whim some years ago, but never really wore them. Brought them out of the safe today. Now I remember why I bought them. They look great!
Magnum Rolex
I recently purchased my Ceramic GMT2 with black dial. I am very happy with my purchase but now I am lusting for a Pepsi. I believe the magnum PI Rolex is the 16750. I see plenty of 16710 but not as many 16750. I have done the google thing, looking for the experts here to give me the real scoop. I want the model he wore in the show (and the car, maybe next year :) )
41mm Datejust Jubilee Bracelet Crown Clasp
Hey everyone,I am new to watch collecting, but have a background in some other collectibles that fit well with watches, mostly coins and other antiques, some bourbon, and I like to collect houses'. I have also decided that I am ready to purchase my first Rolex in 2018. This is something I have wanted all of my life, and I am having some trouble figuring out a few things moving forward. I know for example that I want a Two-Tone Yellow Gold 41mm Datejust Black Diamond Dial Fluted Bezel on a Jubilee Bracelet with a Crown ClaspMy problem seems to be finding this exact setup with the crown stealth Clasp. I decidedly do NOT want or like the look of the oyster Clasp on this configuration, but I don't see the option available anywhere. What are my options for something like this? Is it a call to Rolex for a custom job? Are they already out in the wild? Is it coming soon'? Pardon my ignorance, but I am unable to locate this answer and feel as if I may be looking for something that does not ex
Rolex Insurance JM/SF experience
I recently had the opportunity to purchase my first Rolex, a DJ II 41. I love it and have been wondering why I didn't do it sooner, nonetheless I've read many threads and discussions regarding ins. I thought it resourceful to do so myself so I checked with Jewelers Mutual as well as State Farm. SF has a personal articles policy that is totally separate from homeowners. I provided a receipt as documentation. Approx 6500 value. The difference between the two was quite a learning experience. I chose zero deductible with JM. After submitting my application etc: JM sent an email stating they would insure but only w a 500 deductible. I called and also leaned that it's replacement only and in some instances I would be responsible for taxes and any other charges, whatever that means. They also advised that I would have to submit documentation in the event the value went up and the watch became more valuable or more costly to replace. I also apparently asked a silly question about upgrading i
