3 Exceptional Boutique Watches We Found Outside of SIHH 2015
Every year at Geneva’s SIHH watch salon, a host of luxury watch brands (most of them owned by the Richemont Group) unveil their new timepieces to international retailers, collectors, and journalists. In recent years, other smaller, non-participating brands have set up shop outside of the SIHH in Geneva’s luxury hotels, displaying new models of their own. Here are three notable examples of such watches that we found this year.Manufacture Royale Androgyne Origine, 245th Anniversary Limited EditionNamed for the watch atelier founded by French literary icon Voltaire in 1770, this boutique brand is know for tourbillon watches with steampunk-influenced designs. The new Androgyne Origine commemorates 245 years since the foundation of the original Manufacture Royale. Its complex case is made up of 52 parts and is especially notable for its moving, flexible lugs that make the large timepiece eminently wearable on all types of wrists despite its rather large case diameter (43 mm). 11 Impressive Achievements From 140 Years Of Bulova Watches
Sponsored PostBulova: A History Of ModernThis year, American-founded Bulova celebrates their 140th anniversary after being founded by Joseph Bulova in 1875. Bulova himself was an immigrant to the United States, and his company quickly became one of the largest watch and clock makers in the country. Bulova existed not only at the height of America's dominance in timekeeping and wrist watch production, but also as many of the most important technological innovations in watchmaking were being developed.Joseph Bulova himself died in 1936, but not before the Bulova Watch Company hit it big in the early 1920s. Many of their early timepieces were produced in Switzerland, and likewise, today, the Bulova Accu-Swiss collection is Swiss Made. In 1926, Bulova was the first company to have a national US advertisement on the radio, and later in 1941, Bulova was also the first company to have an advertisement on television.Bulova was independently operated until 1979. Nevertheless, Bulova today conti
What do you think about this DeVille?
Hey everyone!I have this Omega on its way to me and I am thinking - keep or not?and here are the details:.omega.ch/index.php?id=597...031&no_cache=1What are your thoughts - or What attracted me to it was the complication - a co-axial split level chronograph (Rattrapante). 5146 help
Hi guys,Once again I a considering the 5146. This time I am trying to justify the 5146P instead of the 5146 G slate dial.I really love the look of the 5146P ebony dial however, I am not sure i like the price difference. I feel the G is very similar to the P version so why spend so much money. What are your thoughts? Would you get the P or the G and use the additional funds of another watch in the future? Please share your thoughts with me. Thank you.
Cracked Ceramic Bezel
So here is what a BLNR ceramic bezel looks like when dropped from approx 5 feet onto an aluminium frame. I may have felt a bit better about it if I'd knocked it on a rusty cannon at 100 feet depth whilst diving for doubloons, but that's not me! Probably only me that will ever notice, so I will live with it for now...
