Concord C1 Radar Watch
I finally figured out who this watch is good for! The Scarecrow. On good days it can be the Wizard of Oz scarecrow, on bad days, the one from Batman. Why that character? Well the "technofabric" strap of the watch just seems to match the burlap sackmask that the scarecrow wears. Why is this lately iteration of the Concord C1 called the Radar? Your guess it as good as mine, but this is one of Concord's most noble attempts at making the C1 design work.See my full article on the Concord C1 Radar watch here at Haute Living. 2009 Hamilton Ventura XXL Automatic Watch
It was only a matter of time before Hamilton decided it was time for a real rehash of the classic Ventura watch. This is not to be confused with now defunct Ventura watches. The Ventura watch model from Hamilton first came out in the age of pre-quartz electronic watches. When "electronic" watches meant something futuristic and exotic. It was the spacey look of the watch that really mattered though. At the time, it was really "out there." Shaped like a shield on its side - many with the popular two-tone leather strap - the Ventura has been in production for over 50 years. It is funny that only more recently have the watches become mechanical. The 50th anniversary Hamilton Ventura sported a partially skeletonized face and ETA 2824-2 automatic mechanical movement. The Ventura has screen time in at least one film. It was worn by the heroes in the Men in Black movies, going along with the retro space-age theme. Over 50 years, very little changed with the look of the Ventura case itself, whic
The Beagle has landed....Snoopy FTW
I usually don't make incoming threads but I feel that this watch is special enough to make one to share with the Rolex folks as well:Like the title says, Snoopy has landed finally today (well yesterday to be exact but I had no time to pick up yesterday). Took a little time off work during work to make the drive down to Fashion Valley Omega Boutique to pick up this beauty. It was refreshing since I've been on a Rolex kick lately and forgot how much better the Omega Boutiques treat you compared to Rolex ADs. Big shout out and thank you to the guys who made this possible there (Robert/Jonathan). I inquired on the piece since September 2015 and was officially moved on to the allocated list in November 2015. I can say to all those still waiting the wait is worth every second and then some. This watch has to be seen in person to understand the minute details.....the multi layered custom enamel backing to give the space dust a 3rd dimension, the white yet almost metallic dial (it is def
