Torn with dilemma with 2 Ceramic AP or PAM
Hi Guys,I am lucky to have equal chance to get either the following 2 ceramic watches butam absolutely torn with dilemma as to which one to go for given the street price of the PAM508 being not very far off vs what could be achieved for the AP Ceramic Diver.I know and wish I have the funds to get both but could only manage 1 for now hence will like to hear the opinions/comments from you guys. Always fun and nice hearing opinions from other owners hence this poll. Both watches are being similar and yet different in many ways.Very curious how this will turn out as I am posting this Poll in AP and Panerai forum.I currently own:2 x 42mm offshore chrono( Classic blue in steel and t Grey Themes in titanium) 44mm steel novelty offshore chronoMy own views of both watches:AP Ceramic Diver-More elegant design-More shiny ceramic finish-Lighter in weight-More right angles and squarish look-Display back-No so many straps option-42mm but wears like 44mm-Semi-gloss dial with Tapisserie design-Orang
Jewelry Rep never heard of AP?
I was attending my friends son's bris (ritual circumcision ) this morning and one of our mutual friends is a manufactures rep for several jewelry lines showed me his new 42mm Rolex Explorer with the polar dial. He also has a Bluesy TT so it's not like he is completely watch inept turned to me and asked what was I wearing so I show him my new AP Rubberclad. He says, who makes that? I look at him in semi shock and say its an Audemars Piquet. He says never heard of them.Seriously??? You are in the jewelry biz and are in stores almost everyday and have never heard of AP? Nope he says.Anybody else think this is kind of shocking given the history of the brand? I would figure most people wouldn't know an AP from a Timex but a guy who is in a jewelry store all the time? Are there not that many AP AD's out there that it would be rare to see them?Interesting...
Omega Ranchero
I received this watch about 10 years ago from my dad . . . he told me that they where only made for 2 years . . . I put the watch in a drawer until a few months ago . . . I called my big friend 'the watchmaker' if I could visit him and bring a watch to get back into shape ;-)He inspected the watch and said . . . no problem . . I wasn't expecting anything else ;-)So he found a new glass since it was cracked (I received it that way . . . thanks Dad ;-)Today he called me that it was finished so I jumped into my car and was really curious to see my first overhauled or restored watch.I am amazed what he did . . . new glass . . . a little bit of polishing . . . and a big service . . .There it was my new Ranchero . . . If you want to read some more about it here is an article from Honkidee .hodinkee/2008/10/22/1...-it-watch.htmlHere are some pics of the Ranchero (the first one was how she left . . . )Great patina . . . . I love it !Next step will be a new nice tan leather strap . . . lizard

BLNR - Rubber B installed
So I got my strap and Bergeon 7825 today. What a different watch now. Went from sporty/classy with the PCL's to full on sport. Two completely different watches. At first I didn't know if I liked the strap. I am use to the oyster. After a couple hours I like it now. Definitely not incognito with the blue. Stunning from far away and on another persons wrist. Had my gf try it on. Rubber B impressions - color match is almost perfect. The texture and feel of the band is stellar. Still overpriced in my mind, but definitely not cheap feeling in anyway. Sizing is small - third hole from end just makes it under second keeper (sort of tight). Second hole is loose and doesn't go under second keeper, but doesn't move around. Of course I am in between holes. Very comfortable either way. Bergeron 7825 - seems well built, but ends don't have much to wrap around spring bar. The sharp part is almost not there like on a normal spring bar tool. Made it easier to take off, but still easy to scra
