Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends July 31, 2015
Some watch enthusiasts love modern pieces while some of us love vintage, there's no right or wrong. But if you love shiny new things, this round-up features new watches from A. Lange & S?hne, IWC, Angelus, Tudor, and more. And as for a bonus, we even feature an over the top watch winder from LumiSidus, coated in 24k gold.Shiny new things aside, we also take a look at vintage watches, and we are turning our attention to a much overlooked brand, Breitling. We also take a look at which vintage piece watch journalists would buy if money were no object. Fluctuations in used Rolex prices?
I know there's been lots of talk about the astronomical prices of SS sports watches on the used market these days. The reasons for the increases seem to be partly rational, i.e. permanent/temporary freezes on production of certain models, the Basel effect, etc. Some of it seems to be due to hive mind, speculation, and collective panic.I'm fairly new to the Rolex game, so I was wondering if those with some institutional memory can pipe in as to whether used prices tend to be cyclical and we can expect them to come down a bit after Basel, or whether they are likely to head inexorably upward.Any opinions?
