TAG Heuer Launches TAG Heuer Connected Smartwatch with Intel & Google
Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer officially threw its hat into the smartwatch ring today with the launch of the TAG Heuer Connected watch �� first announced at this year’s Baselworld �� a revolutionary new timepiece developed in cooperation with Intel Corporation and Google and powered by Android Wear technology.The TAG Heuer Connected Watch was unveiled at a press conference at LVMH Tower (LVMH is the parent company of TAG Heuer), hosted by Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer & President of the LVMH Group’s Watches Division, accompanied by Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel Corporation, and David Singleton, VP of Engineering for Android at Google. VULCAIN – 50s President’s Watch
The first watch fitted with a mechanical adjustable alarm was born in the Vulcain workshops in 1947 after 5 years of development. The "Cricket function" has since become the Locle brand's signature and is so called because it makes a noise similar to a cricket when it goes off. To coincide with Baselworld 2015, the dials on the manual wind pieces from the 50s President’s Watch collection have been redesigned. The new look features a circular guilloch�� centre and linear guilloch�� hour rim in a range of three different shades of grey: silver grey, grey beige (or "greige") and mouse grey. The 42mm steel case houses the famous manual wind mechanical Cricket V-11 calibre which brings to life the time functions (hours, minutes and seconds in the centre), alarm (point which can be adjusted by the winding crown) and date (display at 6 o' clock).
