Armin Strom Reveals First In-House Made Movement, The Calibre ARM09
Armin Strom is the newest watch makers around who is proud to announce that they will be making their own movements. Funded by some big money gentlemen who want results, they wanted their brand to have in-house made movements, so they made it happen. Until now Armin Strom watches featured impressively decorated movements sourced from ETA, but that is all about to change. The ARM09 is proof of that. Usually when a watch maker releases their first in-house made movement it is fine. Nothing special, but it is still their own "baby." Armin Strom on the other hand has given us something very pretty, with impressive specs to make. One thing I can't get out of my mind. The design on the movement has an uncanny resemblance to another watch I know. Compare the Armin Strom calibre ARM09 with the MB&F HM3 (specially the Sidewinder). I don't even need to explain, you'll see how similar they are. ARM09 stands for "Armin?? Reserve Marche 2009." This should make sense. For those who don't know, Re
Uniform Wares 250 Series
The 250 line from Uniform Wares marks an interesting new direction for the brand. While still being a very unique and contemporary take on the wristwatch, the influence of mid-century watch design is more apparent in the company’s new design. According to Uniform Wares "the 250 series pays homage to post WWII gentleman's wrist watches" which is clearly visible in the body style, military-esque beveled chapter ring and applied hour markers (previous models from the brand had only printed faces). The 39mm x 8mm body is on the large size for a mid-century watch, but on the small size for a contemporary piece, placing it in that very comfortable to wear range. Certainly, the bold but minimal face designs will still give the watch substantial amount of wrist presence. The 250 is available in three versions, an all stainless model with varying finishes, stainless markers and a deep reddish brown strap. Another first AP thread! ROO Safari
I haven't been a long time AP lover, in fact I never considered one like some watches that I've wanted for years (such as a PP nautilus) but not too long ago I went into the only AD in Melbourne that stocks AP's and had a browse....didn't take long to want one more than any watch I could think of! I guess I don't see many, if any, around here and pictures just don't do them justiceThey happened to have a Royal Oak Offshore Safari and another model in stock that arrived the day before. The sales guy was actually surprised as he said they normally sell Safari's to VIP's before they hit the shelf and that they only get allocated 2 per financial year from AP (who knows how much truth is in that...they are salespeople after all)Anyway, told me the price...and that there are no discounts even though I'm a long time client since its such a rare/sought after model in Australia and they were confident it would sell for full price that week. Wasn't going to reserve it at full retail price so I l

Help please based on my requirements?
Hi guys,As this is my first post please excuse me if this has been covered before.!I have been interested in watches for as long as I can remember. After lusting after a Rolex Submariner for years I finally saved up the money and purchased one! I have to say this was the best decision I have ever made and I absolutely love it!!!!!I'm now getting to a position again that I can now make another purchase with savings I have built up.I have my heart set on a panerai luminor case.As I'm a complete novice where panerai is concerned I was wondering could you list some suitable models that would recommend for my first Panerai purchase? My budget is 5000 max however if I could spend less it would be a bonus.I would like to buy a model which hopefully can hold its money similar to a RolexAs I have quite a thin wrist I feel 42mm should be my maximum.I would like a model which offers ease of use when changing straps. After consideration I think it better to go for an automatic vs Manual due to dext
