Frdrique Constant Maxime: Affordably In-House
Five years ago, Frdrique Constant joined the circle of Swiss brands that develop and produce their movements in-house. For 2009, Frdrique Constant introduces its Maxime Manufacture Automatic featuring the all-new, in-house manufactured FC-700 automatic caliber. Outside, the 42mm diameter case offers polished and matte surfaces. A sapphire crystal covers a silver guilloch dial. Priced at only $2550 in steel or $3550 in steel/rose gold plate, the Maxime offers classic good looks and excellent value for a Swiss-made watch with a manufacture movement. The Maxime is available at retailers now. For more information, visit frederique-constant. Click the images below to view larger versions.
Introducing: The New Glashtte Original Senator Chronometer, With A Dark Blue Dial
Directly inspired by the marine chronometers made in Glashütte during the mid-20th century, the Senator Chronometer was introduced in 2009 with a perfectly archetypal dial layout for the genre. It featured a large white face, dominated by oversized Roman numerals, black rail tracks, pear-shaped blued hands, and most of all, a power reserve and running seconds facing each other at at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock. The only details betraying its modern origins, besides it being a 42 mm wristwatch, was the signature panorama date window at 3 o’clock. Still, it was ultimately a classic watch. 1 OF 2 Six years later, Glashütte Original presents a much more contemporary design, with a slimmer version of the Senator case made from white gold, and a dark blue face that highlights the finely grained dial more clearly.Once again, it is powered by Calibre 58-01, a distinctly German movement with striped three-quarter plate. A manually wound movement, it features
Help with ID on a 120m Seamaster
I was driving back from selling my Rolex Yachtmaster to a fellow forum member (nice meeting you Dan), and I stopped at a place that buys and sells gold and estate jewelry. He happened to have a few Omega watches, on old Seamaster Deville, Seamaster Constellation, and there was a Seamaster diver. Here are the pics:The watch is pristine. The only blemish is the smallest of scratches on the clasp. It looks like someone put it away after wearing it only once. Sets up and runs strong. I noticed that the red dot on the caseback is intact. So the question is, what do I have and what would have been a reasonable price to pay? No box or papers, just the watch.

My sister and I decide to buy this one together. We are petite so some recommend us to buy 26 mm is more suitable, but some says 26 mm is discontinued so it's better to buy 28 mm. If I buy 26 mm, it's not a good idea? Also, which AD would you recommend in Toronto Area? Since we are going to buy 2 (possibly 1 more for my mom), we are looking for a discount price.
