New addition....but will be off to APSC Monday for a facial
Just picked up this mint 39mm SS ROC. Been on the hunt for the past year for an H serial that's complete with box and papers. Finally landed one today. Will send it off to APSC on Monday for a dial swap - to the deep navy dial (just like Fred's gorgeous SS ROC). Can hardly wait to get it back. My first experience with Ap
Well i would like to thank all the enablers here that posted all their juicy pics of their beautiful Ap's. Well I moved out two of my watches to fund this stunning timepiece. The fit and finish is amazing as is the imense wrist presence.Special thanks to my friend David SW for another flawless transaction. On with the pics
Pulled the trigger- 5905 Incoming- Blue Baby-Blue!
I can't believe I'm spending this much on a watch. But I'm a big guy- 6'4 and have other watches but I gravitate towards the best. There is little doubt that Patek is at the top of the heap when it comes to the world of watches.I've always worn larger watches- 42-44mm but have loved the style of Patek. Anytime I wanted to buy a Patek, I'd have an internal battle over buying their 39 and 40mm watches.I got a 5980 last year and while not a true 44mm, I really got used to the size. I sold my AP Grand Prix and some other pieces to make some room in the collection as my love for all things Patek deepend.I kept my eye out for the elusive Grail- a larger Patek that didn't cost upwards of 750k. A month ago my AD called and said they had a 5524- the Pilots watch. I declined as it was not a good time in my life as I was going through some busy time at work. But I regret that decision to this day. A Patek that is large and frankly I like the style of it.However I digress- fast forward
5951
What do you guys think of the 5951? I find it very beautiful, especially the model with the engravings, of course the price is very very hefty, around 600K, but I understand whereas I couldn't understand the 400K for the 5950, one is platinum, PC, moon phase, whereas the 5950 is steel and without PC or moon phase.Of course I would never consider getting one except if I was to become very rich, but if you need to save up 20 or more years to get a watch I would definitely have other contenders which would come before, 5204, 5213 and a few others. If I was given a choice as a present between a 5951 and a 5970 I would choose the 5951, but if I needed to pay myself would take the 5970, once again a piece that I will never have the possibility of getting but I am happy to be able to just look at it in pics 5951p-001.jpg5951_500P_001-3.png5951_500P_001-2.png
