SIHH 2015: New Dial Designs for A. Lange & S?hne Saxonia (Updated with Live Photos)
At the?SIHH 2015 watch fair, German luxury watch brand A. Lange & Sohne unveiled three new models in its elegant, understated Saxonia collection. The new-generation versions of the Saxonia, Saxonia Automatic, and Saxonia Dual Time all feature subtly redesigned dials, with two models also sporting new case dimensions.Lange Saxonia watches which, along with the iconic Lange 1, were launched 20 years ago as one of the brand’s original collections remain a cornerstone of A. Lange & Sohne portfolio, thus the changes that Lange decided to make to these models’ aesthetics are very nuanced and precisely placed. For its new Saxonia dials, A. Lange & S?hne moved the gold applied hour indices closer to the periphery of the dial and added double-baton indices at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. The black gradations of the minutes scale have been slightly lengthened. On two of the models the Saxonia Automatic and Saxonia Dual Time numerals are now used for the tens mark
Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement Watch
"Constant Escapement" sounds like the marketing slogan for an all-inclusive vacation resort somewhere. "What you truly seek is constant escapement..." It is true, like other hobbies in life, high-end watches are a constant distraction, and offer some nice escape when wound properly. What?Girard-Perregaux?actually means is "constant force escapement" - which is really what this new high-end technically-astute timepiece is all about. In this watch are clues to the future of the brand as well as insight as to what Switzerland's top watch makers are currently working on. The Constant Escapement doesn't do anything new, but it does do some existing things in a fresh new way. What we've been noticing lately from Girard-Perregaux is a rather distinct rejection of its own aesthetic codes. For a while, Girard-Perregaux was all about "classic and timeless" - with good looking retro-inspired pieces and a relative negligence of their sport watch collections. This was them taking the vintage watch c
Citizen Campanola Minute Repeater Regulator On eBay: Auction Ends Dec-02-07 19:00:00 PST
I am always happy to share when a Citizen Campanola watch is available. Here is a relatively rare version which incorporates a true minute repeater, with a regulator face. A regulator is watch that has a separate dial for the hours and minutes. Here, the larger main dial indicates the minutes, while a smaller sub-dial indicates the hours. Of course there is a lot else at play on this watch, and the selection of the dials and gauges is quite fascinating. As most of you already know, the Citizen Campanola series of watches represents the highest level of watch making from Citizen. Each is hand assembled and lovingly detailed. The craftsmanship is really top-notch and the materials used spare no expense. To visit Citizen's Campanola home page herewatches-dealermon to many of the Campanola watches, this minute repeater also offers a full perpetual calendar and two alarm functions along with its minute repeater function. A minute repeater is watch with a chiming complication. Meaning that a
Black Bay vs PO 8500
I am having a heck of a time trying to decide what my next purchase is going to be. I think I have it narrowed down to a Blue Tudor Black Bay and a Omega Planet Ocean 8500 (both pre-owned). My current collection is as follows:Rolex Sub CBreitling Avenger SeawolfOmega Speedmaster ProBreitling NavitimerOmega Planet Ocean 2500Current grails would be Rolex Exp II 42mm & GMT II BLNR (but those are little out of my price range at the moment)I originally wanted the Black Bay on the fabric strap because I thought it would be different from my other watches. However, I know that I didn't love the snowflake hands at first sight. I think I have somewhat convinced myself to like the Black Bay . However, every time I see pictures of the new 8500 PO, I think Now THAT is a good looking watch. I am torn, though, because I know how similar the 8500 is to the 2500, and in fact people prefer the 2500 for certain reasons. I am not interested in flipping the 2500 (for sentimental reasons), so I am stuc
for the Patek lovers, this is a very rare super high end piece ...
First I would like to thank Jacques Degreef otherwise I could not share those pics. It was the first time in my life I saw a Patek 10 days tourbillon. This was already a good feeling. I can't describe how it felt when I was allowed to 'play' with it between 10.00 and 11.30 this morning. Those pics are the best I could do but believe me, this watch gives you shivers.I could always sell my house and buy this watch but I have a strange feeling my girlfriend would not like the idea LOLSo I better stop dreaming. Such a piece will always be out of my league.BUT, if you really like the looks and want something similar (without the 10 days power reserve and ofcourse without the tourbillon) you can always try the 5124.At the fraction of the price you get a very good looking dress watch.
