Service question from AP noob
I just purchased an immaculate 15300 from DavidSW. Phenomenal transaction as always. The papers are stamped 12/1/10 and the watch came LNIB.I spoke to a woman at the Clearwater SC and she seemed to be pushing for a full service and water resistance check, her reasoning being that the watch likely sat unworn for the majority of the 2 year period and maybe the oils dried up/sedimented/whatnot. As per the manufacturer recommendations the watch is only due for a water resistance check. So here are my questions:1. Is a full service needed at this point? 2. Do most of you perform the water resistance check like clockwork every 2 years (pardon the pun).
PO Liquidmetal I and II
I was looking for a tough daily beater to give my DJII a break. I couldn't decide between the Rolex Submariner Ceramic and Omega Planet Ocean. I like the Sub because of the new ceramic bezel and liked the PO for it's modern style. Flew to the US to visit my AD but was told that the PO was out of stock. Tried on the Sub-C but it felt small when compared to my DJII. So it looks like I was going home empty handed until my AD brought out a box containing the PO LM. Right off the bat, my AD offers me the PO LM for the same price as the PO so I do not have to wait 8 weeks for the PO. My lucky day! The best of both worlds. A ceramic/liquidmetal bezel and the contemporary styling of the PO. The deal was too good to pass up so I asked if I could buy 2. Unfortunately my AD had already sold 5 and only had 1 left but a quick phone call to Omega North America President and a 2nd PO LM was on its way to my AD. 3 days and almost $8,000 later I have 2 PO LMs in my hands. Loving the watch. I'm in a pro
Wolves in NJ and Patek to the Rescue
This afternoon I picked up my shiny new 5522 and headed home to enjoy a beautiful fall day. I took my trusty 13 year old rescue dog Bella for a walk in the woods. I heard a rustling sound in the bushes and suddenly I was confronted by an aggressive and large Wolf. Please follow photos below I started to back away and my heart sank as I realized we were surrounded by an entire pack of vicious canines. They circled in a coordinated and choreographed manner as Bella started to growl back defensively.I began to panic as the alpha male started to close the gap between us. I suddenly noticed the sun ray cascading off of my 5522. I aimed it at the eyes of Kujo. As if awe struck by the sheer magnificence before him, he rolled over, whimpered and assumed a prone submissive position. While the 5522 has already received wide acclaim, I am here to confirm that the PP 5522 has the capacity to tame entire packs of apex predators and will result in the owner assuming the role of leader of the pa
