Hands-On: With The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5377, The World's Thinnes
With its namesake the inventor of the tourbillon, Breguet has a lot to live up to when it comes to innovating the complication. The Classique Tourbillion Extra-Plat Automatique 5377 does not disappoint. Not only is the watch extremely thin (the thinnest automatic tourbillon in the world), but the off-center tourbillon also uses a titanium cage surrounding an anti-magnetic escapement. Sorry for the incorrect NASA reference but just could not help it. The other day my AD was having a tent sale and I could not make it over there as I had previous obligations and he is 3 hours away. So I asked that he send some pictures of the good deals that he had to let me peruse. I had no intention of buying anything as I was convinced I was wanting a blue Pelagos next but had to see if anything was too good to pass up. How does it go???? Curiosity killed the cat. Well then I am the kitty. I spot this beauty buried in the middle of the picture amongst several Tudor and Rolex pieces along with a couple Nomos and Others. I have never had an Omega so I quickly educated myself and decided that this was too cool of a story and deal to pass up. I guess every collection needs a Speedy, right?? At least that is what I told my wife. So here she is. The new(er) re-release of the pre-moon speedy with an 1861 manual wind. I love the 39.5mm case size and the no crown guards. Got my AD to thro
