Avakian Watch Concept 1
You may know Avakian as a high-end jewelry and watch store. Avakian has a watch line as well. They have had watches for some time, but this is a very high-end and complex model for them. It is called (I believe) the Concept 1. Yes, there are many design cues taken from other watch makers. Richard Mille and Cvstos have a lot in common with this watch, as well as from other luxury models. It doesn't matter that as a whole it is not ultra unique, but rather than in all, it is an interesting and fun design. The watch was released officially almost a year ago, but that is pittance in "watch time," where models can take a while to reach market, at least in any numbers. The watches will be sold exclusively through Avakian boutiques around the world. Avakian founder Edmond Avakian seems to suggest that the watch will be mostly available in their Beverly Hills, Geneva, London, and of course Moscow locations. SS Nautilus or Aquanaut with SS band?
Went into the city today to look at the Nautilus (5711) but could not find one. I did see an Aquanaut, but it was on a SS band (not rubber) and I must say I think I like it. Curious what the consensus here is on the Aquanaut on SS band.It was this model.swissluxury/patek-phi...anaut-mens.htm
Incoming / warning - four digit model
Gents,Pleased to report my latest. The 1392. My relationship has been long and frustrating with OP. I've owned many models and subsequently flipped many models, like all of them. I just love the look (crown guard / sandwich / strap options etc) but mostly wind up thinking they are too thick or top heavy etc. maybe this is the one. Thinner, I'd say maybe 3-4mm from 392. The blue seconds hand may be polarizing but I like it and don't think changing straps would be negatively impacted from a touch of blue at all. Vintage lume - whatever, I'd maybe choose the white from 392 if I had to choose but it's just not a deal breaker for me and the smaller case is the number one factor for me. I'm hoping this solves my OP dilemma as I really want one in the stable. Hope it sticks this time. Prior models owned for those still reading 164, 25, 359, 298, 392, 512, and 535.
Winding feel question
I have a Hulk and a D-Blue and as far as I know both have the same movement, but on the sub the winding is much smoother and louder, than on D-DBlue, anyone with both a Sub and Deepsea notice these differences. Sub was bought new and D-Blue used, I also notice I can wind the Sub faster and it feels more sturdy, when I try and wind the D-Blue fast it almost feels like the gears slip a little, if that makes sense. sShould I be worried, 4 years warranty left on D-Blue, but it keeps perfect time, only issue is the winding described above.pics for interest
