Interview: Georges Kern Of Roger Dubuis
Just like 2011 was a strong year for Zenith, this past 12 months marked a return of sorts for Roger Dubuis. The manufacture refocused its efforts on producing handsome, highly finished watches such as La Monegasque Collection, which we showed you here. Also, 2011 marked the return of the brand's founding father, Roger Dubuis himself, to the brand that bears his name. 1 OF 1 But what does Georges Kern, the man behind the rebirth of Dubuis have to say about all this? Well, Blake sat down with him in Monaco to chat about why he think Dubuis is a special brand, and just much more money goes into the finish of an RD movement than into a standard mechanical watch. Also, Kern says Roger Dubuis is the only manufacture in the world that is completely in-house from top to bottom, and marked with the Geneva seal. Because of this, the standard Dubuis movement costs around $5000, while many competitors' movements, he says, cost a fraction of this. Since the filming
Breitling Chrono SuperOcean
As i'm always on the hunt for watches that will be added to my collection, the other night I decided to look at Breitling. Always felt they were very nice, a great tool watch that also looks excellent. After comparing all the models in my catalogue and online the one that appealed to me most was the Chrono SuperOcean. I'm a dive style watch lover indeed and the pre owned costs seem fairly good for later down after my Rolex needs are satisfied. Just wanted to see what some of you thought and if any of you here owns one or more of these. Any feedback is welcomed.
How much does this cost?
Hi... I am interested in a used Omega Speedmaster...how much should a good second hand cost? How about Speedmaster professional?Speedmaster Day date? How are the resell value of these watches?Thank you....
Thoughts on the P2004?
Over the last 5 years I've had two different 311's. I loved that model. I must have right, I bought two. But the same issue made me sell them both. Reliability! Both of them had several service issues that upset me. You can see very detail posts over at Paneristi using the same handle as I have here. I was just wondering what others people thoughts and experiences were with the P2004 plus its variants. My issues currently, I love the seconds reset feature, titanium weight is huge for me plus the 12 hour GMT. I was considering the 233 but I really didn't want a ss model as I have a AP 15710 diver and missed my Panerai's but wanted something lighter. The domed crystal is a non factor for me as I like it a lot but when I had a 351 the way that looked in certain lighting the two types were a wash in terms of likability. My year of Rolex
It would be nice to hear stories of some special year which you had with Rolex hobby, please share Here’s mine, 2017:I got into Rolex in the beginning of this year, began to understand the brand and what Rolex watches really are. I got hyped right away when i saw so many references i really like. I started to lurk around TRF and joined, it has been hobby time since that day. Even that i come from Switzerland i was amazed about this wide culture around Rolex. And on the top this huge positive mind set this community has. I feel priviledged to find this, thank you once again.I started to check and get deeper knowledge of different Rolexes, totally felt i have some serious catching up to do. And the result is that at the time i have 7 Rolexes and one Tudor.First i got Explorer II:Precise, practical watch which is very comfortable. Has taken most of the wrist time and has been thru many situations with me so far. It is about reliability and being under the radar.Right after i had De
