Sea-God Dive Watches
As I discussed on the HourTime Show watch podcast, the term "Sea God" for a dive watch brand sits somewhere between clever and obnoxious. The new Italian brand is an enthusiastic yet unabashed jab are Rolex. From the sharp visual resemblance with Rolex's dive watches to the almost satirical text on the dial of "Superlative Design" - this fashion function line of diver still seems to satisfy. The name Sea-God evokes an almost deistic quality in the watch (well literally speaking it does). To proclaim a watch as god of the sea is a bold yet empty statement. Even the name of this brand is perhaps an unintended comment on how high-end hyperbole has run amok. The name is so silly we end up taking it seriously. As though it is a very well executed joke. Royal Oak Chrono 25860 ST - experiences & opinions
G'day everyone. I couldn't find very much info about this reference, hence am just wondering if anyone has experience owning one for a while ? I have a chance to buy a blue-dialled one which comes with everything in the box. It's a used 2008 watch and looks in pristine condition and everything works fine. It's AP's first RO chrono though with a Piguet movement and I'm just if there's anything I should be concerned about.
Leaning towards a planet ocean
I dig the contemporary look and reading about the 8500 movements seem to be pointing me towards the omega po 2011 when they come out. I cannot seem to find much info on the 8500 movement. But looking at both the rolex sub and the po, I like the way the po looks and feels. Funny since I was leaning towards a sub initially. Now it looks like the orange basel po caught my attention.
Has the craziness finally stopped??
I have been following all of the Black Bay ETA speculation on here for a while now and also just happened to notice LOTS of them for sale on WUS. Many have been for sale for a while now and are even having price drops. So, what gives, did everyone finally notice they are not super rare? Did everyone wake up and notice it was an ETA movement all at once?
