Poll: Your Hand-Orientation & What Wrist You Wear Your Watch On?
I'm left-handed and I also prefer to wear a watch on my left wrist. That makes me somewhat unusual because the traditional "rule" when it comes to your wrist watch is that it goes on your non-dominant hand's wrist. So if I were like more people and followed the "rule," I would wear my watch on my right wrist because I am left-handed.So why don't I conform to the more typical orientation of wearing my watch on my non-dominant wrist? I don't actually know. I am pretty sure that I started wearing a watch from an extremely early age (perhaps 3 or 4years old) and no one was there to explain to me what wrist I should wear my watch on. What I probably did (as any young child does) is observe where most adults were wearing their watches C and I followed suit.A recent e-mail from an watches-dealer reader (thanks Jonno) in Australia asked me if I knew anything about the history of wrist watches for lefties. I realized that I wasn't aware of any such "lefty watch" history, and assumed that for th
Breaking News: James Bond's Omega Seamaster From 'Spectre' Just Sold For Over $100,000;
The first 10 lots of the Spectre auction were offered yesterday, and altogether, they brought almost $4 million – which is great news since all the proceeds went to charity. Our eyes were obviously set on the Prototype Seamaster worn by Daniel Craig, and it blew well past the initial estimate of £15,000 - £20,000 ($21,375–$28,500) reaching over $130,000. And I am sure that you are also wondering who took home his Aston DB10. Well, I fear I can't answer that, but the battle for this incredible car was fierce, and stopped near the $3.5 million mark, again a solid multiple over the estimates. And the Spectre auction is not finished yet, as some 14 additional lots from the movie are still available for online bidding. Prototype Omega Seamaster 300 Worn By Daniel Craig C Sold For $132,000 1 OF 4 As we mentioned in our previous article here, this Seamaster 300 is one step beyond the Spectre Limited edition, as it is actually one of the eight p
Introducing The Rotonde de Cartier Earth And Moon, A Tourbillon With On-Demand Moonphase Display (Li
Over the last few years, Cartier's Fine Watchmaking department has been consistently pushing out some of the most creative and technically impressive haute horology around. Just a few weeks ago we showed you the new Astrocalendaire and today we've got another stunner for you. The Rotonde de Cartier Earth and Moon uses its tourbillon and a moving Lapis Lazuli disc to display the phase of the moon on demand and there is a second timezone display as well. The Earth and Moon is as much a mechanical sculpture as it is a timekeeper and here we've got all the details.The Earth and Moon is not a subtle watch – far from it. The platinum case comes in at 47mm across and 16.65mm thick, with robust arching lugs. The dial is bright blue lapis lazuli with a white gold Roman numeral grid over the top that also features a map of the earth at the center. The bright blued steel sword hands match the dial nicely and below all of this is a tourbillon. The finishing on the dial and case,

Had no plans to buy this but found one at a boutique in London and fell in love. NATO strap looked cool but pairing it with a leather croc I think has made this watch pop.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I for one am hoping for a sub redesign...
.... at Basel 2019 or perhaps 2020. Slimmer lugs, thinner case and new movement please - that would be the cherry on top. I've owned 4 maxi case references, including PM, and all of them were flipped at some point PURELY due to how the square case looked on my 7 wrist. It always just looked like the watch was wearing me, as opposed to me wearing the watch. And it was frustrating to finally realise it, since they're all great watches. For now DJ41 and a soon to be added Tudor Blackbay 58 will keep me satisfied. Anyone else wishing for newer Rolex sport watches closer in dimensions to the 5-digit references of yesteryear?
