Bexei Watches: Some Of The Finest In The World & Made In Hungary
Aaron Becsei of Bexei watches is a fellow Hungarian and the only watchmaker in this tiny Central-European country who builds watches from scratch to finish. That already puts him in a rather unique position, but what makes him and his work really interesting from our point of view is that he actually makes some of the finest high-end watches, crafted to a level of quality that is on par with any large manufacture or famed independent. And if you think my patriotism is taking over my ability to judge in a non-partial way, then I urge you to read on, as we find out how one man can make some of the finest watches all by himself, one at a time, at a pace of less than half a dozen a year.During the last 12 months, I have paid three visits to Aaron Becsei, and we both put the months that passed between my visits to good use. For one, all this time allowed him to craft a handful of pieces that make up his yearly production and are delivered to some discerning (and very private) collectors. Se
Finally saw a Jumbo
I finally saw a Jumbo, in SS and in RG, never had before, just 15400, which for a moment I mistaked for a Jumbo, and to say the truth I didn't like it much, but the 15202 is something else, the proportions seem much better to me than 15400, I still prefer the dial and second hand of the 5711, but it is a stunner, hell just with a second hand I would maybe get one if ever I one day want a second SS blue dial watch, I have one in order which is a little too close to the 5711, it is clearly a stunner, what is incredible is that I saw it at the AP boutique and at chronopassion store, at 30 minutes intervals, the AP boutique doesn't have a list according to them, first come first served.I found the proportions to be perfect, finition and movement impeccable, when seeing the 15400 it did nothing to me, also saw the RG ultra thin skeleton, with date, on full RG, wow what a watch, the RG Jumbo next to it looks really boring in fact, if ever one day I want a full RG watch I think that would be
Wolves in NJ and Patek to the Rescue
This afternoon I picked up my shiny new 5522 and headed home to enjoy a beautiful fall day. I took my trusty 13 year old rescue dog Bella for a walk in the woods. I heard a rustling sound in the bushes and suddenly I was confronted by an aggressive and large Wolf. Please follow photos below I started to back away and my heart sank as I realized we were surrounded by an entire pack of vicious canines. They circled in a coordinated and choreographed manner as Bella started to growl back defensively.I began to panic as the alpha male started to close the gap between us. I suddenly noticed the sun ray cascading off of my 5522. I aimed it at the eyes of Kujo. As if awe struck by the sheer magnificence before him, he rolled over, whimpered and assumed a prone submissive position. While the 5522 has already received wide acclaim, I am here to confirm that the PP 5522 has the capacity to tame entire packs of apex predators and will result in the owner assuming the role of leader of the pa
