Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Watch With Dual Seconds Chronograph
This is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Laptimer, a brand new "RO Concept" that I feel may very well be the most striking Royal Oak iteration?since the Offshore Survivor. As its name suggests, this brand new, highly complicated movement was created to be able to measure and record a series of consecutive lap times. Such a watch?was commissioned?back in 2010 by Audemars Piguet ambassador and 7-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher, and it took the?manufacture almost five years to come up with a solution C and fit it into what else but the Concept case, dressed in forged carbon and titanium. In discussions with master watchmakers over the last few years, I have often taken the opportunity to ask, when creating a new movement from scratch,?what?complication is the most?challenging to conceive and produce.?I would venture saying that the single-axis tourbillon, no matter how tirelessly fascinating and beautiful,?was not once mentioned: it was more of a dead heat between chi
How do they do it?
I know that many Breitlings are thick. However, there are quite a few, that have a really slim profile. And I like it. It allows for a larger watch to look and wear quite small, but with great visibility and wrist presence. But curious how they do it. The watch I am wearing today has a GMT, Date and 300M water rating. Everything other brand, from what I can tell, says the thickness of the case is due to the thickness of the movement and the requirements based on depth rating. For example the Submariner is slightly thicker than the 116710 GMT because of the water rating. Curious if anyone has any knowledge on this. Thanks,
Saw new PO/8500
Went into an Omega boutique yesterday to check out Omega offerings, and man was I impressed with the new PO w/ 8500 movement. The new exhibition back and the super luminova on the date wheel is AWESOME. They even had a woman's version my wife was drooling over. Great stuff. That being said, with a $6100 sticker price, I'd still lean toward Rolex at that price. Very well done though.
A question about a used Aquanaut.
I have never owned a PP but i am very interested in the Aquanaut 5167 , last week i purchased a New Rolex Daytona SS White face. But i am really enamored with the Aquanaut. Guys it is possible to purchased a used Aquanaut for around $9,500-10k just asking although i own quite a few other luxury brands i am not at all all familiar with PP and i know the quality is there and so it demands a much higher price then most. Thanks in advance.Marko
16610LV Service Insert is?
When you have an LV insert changed at RSC these days, what pointed four variant do you get?One of these shown below in this image from watchclub?I am aware that flat fours are out of production.Or is there a separate service-only variant out there?OR in typical RSC fashion, do they give you whatever they have in stock?
