Citizen Campanola Mechanical Watches To Use Swiss La Joux-Perret Movements
If you aren't familiar with Campanola, it is a high-end sub-brand of Japanese Citizen watches and has been around for years now as a sort of secret treat for the most dedicated watch fans. Most Campanola watches remain in Japan, but they have had limited distribution around the world. The collection began with Citizen branding on the dials, but later the Campanola name was featured on the dial of these timepieces as the Citizen name took a back seat. One of the first watch reviews I ever did on watches-dealer was of my Citizen Campanola Grand Complication watch here.Campanola began with an interesting premise: to marry high-end case and dial construction techniques with innovative, high-end made quartz movements. In many ways, it was to be an apex of the high-end quartz watch market. Citizen sort of said, "here is a cool quartz movement with lots of features that would normally cost over $100,000 if it was mechanical. Here you get a similar package for $5,000 or so." At least that was
Linde Werdelin DLC Hard Black II Limited Edition Watch
Linde Werdelin experimented with DLC coating on the first round of Hard Black watches and these were a great success, all selling out. They are back with the Linde Werdelin Hard Black II that brings an even hardier version of the popular DLC (diamond like carbon) coating that is now ever harder. Like the image below implies DLC coated watches are truly built like a truck. The coating is just that tough (also scratch resistant). The watch is based on the Linde Werdelin "The One" dial and uses the standard Linde Werdelin watch case that will accept the The Rock of The Reef Instruments for land or sea exploration. Inside the watch is the high-grade automatic ETA 2892-2 mechanical movement. The black color of the case and thick alligator leather strap make for an appealing an aggressive look. The lume on the hour markers and hands is a friendly canary yellow color. It is a soft touch to the watch, and allows the Hard Black II to be very legible. Linde Werdelin has currently been experimenti
Seeking input for first Omega Seamaster
I've recently been looking at divers. I had my heart dead set on a no date Sub, almost pulled the trigger two weeks ago in fact. After not buying the Sub I did a little more looking and research. I came across the Planet Ocean ( Ref. 215.30.40.20.01.001) and I must admit it is signing to me. I've never had a Omega before, seen plenty of pretty pieces such as the Speedy and other Seamasters but I always kept going back to the Sub until I ran across the Planet Ocean with the above Ref. Not that I know a whole awful lot about Rolex watches but I know a whole lot of nothing about The Seamaster and Omega for that matter. I know their are a very very well thought of brand and make quality pieces. What about the Seamaster ? Everyone and their brother has a Sub. I cannot recall ever seeing anyone wearing the Planet Ocean, which I actually like better at this point. What can I expect to pay for one is extremely good condition? Incoming... birth year Tudor 79090
After a few Rolexes, I've really felt a tug towards older Tudor pieces, especially divers. They just work for me. I found this minty one from Honolulu Time Co. for a reasonable price and it just came today. Excited to get it sized and on the wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
