Audemars Piguet Millenary Minute Repeater Watch
For 2011 one of Audemars Piguet's exotic complication pieces will be this Millenary Minute Repeater watch. I was told by Audemars Piguet that their Millenary line is undergoing an overhaul. Looks like 2011 will not be the year we see new Millenary cases and style, but we will see this sophisticated Minute Repeater with another interesting balance wheel and escapement device. The terminology throws me off a bit. There are terms like "AP Exhaust Pulse Direct." Not sure what that is, but it sounds like something from a race car, not timepiece. Previous to this new movement, Audemars Piguet showed off its AP Escapement. That escapement was really fast, to allow for greater accuracy. The AP Escapement was one that they developed to run at something like 72,000 bpm (amazing). Here in the Millenary Minute Repeater, the movement has slower 21,600 bpm movement, but AP uses one of those trendy new "double balance spring." These are pretty neat and are supposed to help cancel out error making the
ROO chrono as only watch
Hello, I hope you are all doing well. Sorry in advance for the probably long winded post but I am sure you appreciate this as it is my first good watch! My current watch is a Casio...I have been looking for about a year now for a nice, daily watch, with a chronograph, that can withstand daily outdoor life and I absolutely love the ROO chronographs, especially the brown 2014 themes model. I won't be diving or hod carrying, but I do some outdoor activities that may give it some light knocks or water / mud - hunting, shooting, camping, etc.The model I am interested in is steel with a hornback leather strap. What kind of durability can I expect from such a watch? Is is reasonable to use it as a daily watch? I know I should not be comparing it with an Explorer or Submariner as these are true beaters .. but on the other hand, I am not looking to climb Everest or go scuba diving, so I am hoping I will be OK.After visiting an AP boutique in January, they look and feel more substantial than a
5159r thoughts and a few pictures
I can't get this reference out of my head. Today at a local AD, I tried on the g and the r. I never imagined I'd be interested in a gold-colored watch, but a dress watch with a brown strap, and for the 5159r in this instance, it just works. I've read past posts about why this reference was bought, and then subsequently flipped. I tried it on today, and while it's thicker than some other PC Pateks, it wears well. It's not top heavy, IMHO. It's elegant. For what watch did others flip this, or what did they buy instead?Present and prior owners of this watch, your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Here are a few wrist shots from today.

Anyone have a 338? I'm wondering about the comfort of a 25mm strap on a smaller watch. Thank's in advance!
No More Deliveries Professional Series
Hi, long time lurker, first post. Just bought my first Rolex today, an Explorer 1. Very happy!! My AD has known my family for generations so it was nice to keep the tradition going. I love my new watch - it is simplicity and elegance. The only thing it does is tell me the time. Oh, and look good doing it, of course!! LOL!!!The bad news was that they said flat out that they had been informed by the regional rep that there would be no more deliveries of any professional series watches for the remainder of the year and likely into spring. The reason apparently is a reaction to unworn watches showing up on the gray market. Anyway, that's the word from one AD. FWIW.
