Red & Black German Racing Watch: Best Hued Temption Formula Rally Chronograph Available
I admit to loving this watch. It just exudes cool to me, but in a really understated way. This to me is a non-flamboyant, flamboyant watch. I've mentioned Temption Formula (and Classic) Rally watches before, but in my opinion this version is the nicest. Other models have yellow or blue trim coloring as opposed to the red in this watch. To me, the red contrasts the best with the black PVD case and dial, not to mention being the most powerful looking.Temption is a powerhouse little German watch maker that churns out a scant 700 watches a year on average. Why the limited production? Because that is about all one can produce and maintain high levels of quality and consistency. The president of the company is involved in most every watch, ensuring a high level of detail and craftsmanship. I own a different Temption watch (the Temption CGK203,which I happen to be wearing right now), and can easily attest to the joy of ownership. Unlike many German watches, Temption timepieces are not just ma
ROO with a suit
Hi all,I just tried on a 44mm ROO 26400 with a suit - it didn't really work for me. Not sure if it's because the white dial looks super sporty, or whether it was the size. The 44mm fits my wrist, but it just didnt work with a suit in the way a 15400 would for example. Does anyone have any wrist shots of their ROO with a suit? Would the 42mm be a better option? I am looking for something I can wear both with business casual (suit with no tie, suit with a knitted jumper during winter, etc) and on weekends and will be in rotation with a GMT Master II. Really want a ROO but need to find the right one which works Thanks!
Righting a wrong from 1997...
I started my horological journey in 1997 one year out of school and securing a decent job. At the end of one year of employment, I wanted to mark the occasion with my first real watch purchase. Mind you, at that time, I was only aware of Rolex and Omega having coming from a family where majority of my elders were wearing vintage Omegas. I didn't really know what I am doing and insisted on getting a piece with an automatic movement, using Rolex as the guide for a major watch purchase. At the time, I didn't think I was quite Rolex material (great marketing) and wanted something different. Looked all over the store and settled on this piece at a good price point. This to me at the time was a large purchase. Omega Speedmaster Automatic at 39mm with the jeweled Dubois-Dpraz 2020 chronograph module on a jeweled ETA 2890-A2 movement. Of course, I found out about all this after going down the rabbit hole that is horology. I was happy with the piece for the next 10 years. I wore i
