Close-Up: Louis Moinet Memoris
Back in 2013, we reported on the discovery of a 19th-century timekeeping device, created by French watchmaker Louis Moinet, that may well have been the world’s very first chronograph. This year, the brand that bears that watchmaker’s name pays tribute to that milestone with the Louis Moinet Memoris, a wristwatch that positions the chronograph as the primary function and the standard timekeeping as an added complication. The Louis Moinet Memoris, released in commemoration of two anniversaries 10 years for the Louis Moinet brand and 200 years since that early chronograph device is described by the brand not as a watch with a chronograph but as a “chronograph-watch.” Louis Moinet partnered with the movement maestros at Concepto (as it has done since the brand’s inception) to develop the movement, Caliber LM54, which incorporates several features that aficionados associate with traditional, “noble” chronographs, including a clutch column wheel a

Dark Side of the Moon strap?
Hello all!I recently acquired the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon and while I love it to bits, I've been thinking about another strap - black like the original but one that has red contrast stitching that's visible on both sides of the strap. The original Omega strap has red stitching but only on the underside, which I thought was a bit of a waste. If anyone can recommend anything, I'd appreciate it. Thanks all! Max

Vibration when Winding
My wife doesn't wear her 31mm DJ very much and today I put it in the winder in my safe. Before I put it in I decided to wind it and set the correct date and time. When I wound it I could feel it vibrating in my hand, very similar to a cell phone vibrating. It was tight, but has always been tight compared to my larger crown watches. I only gave it 5 or six turns to get it started and put it on the winder. I'm thinking the rotor is spinning with the winding action? I had the watch serviced in Oct 2014, and it hasn't seen a lot of use since then.Any thoughts?
