Cushion watches are named as such because the shape of the case is supposed to look like a couch cushion. No one's had a better idea since they started calling them that. new to the club - first omega
after years of collecting Rolexes, I decided to try something new. after a lot of research, decided to go with the classic speedy pro. love the acryllic crystal and the vintage feel and connection to the space program. also, I tried on a couple of the 44+ mm omegas and just could not get used to the size. so while I initially thought about the 50th anniversary edition or the coaxial model with date, I was able to save some money because of my preference for the small version. as between this as the sapphire sandwich, it was a close call, but I figured for my first omega i would go with the classic. anyway, here is cell phone photo from this morning.
Two AP for one Patek ?
The following is on the table for me......AP 26320 Rose Gold Chrono + AP Panda for a 5980/1AR .....I'm actually considering doing this but am having some reservations. This would leave me with the 5980 as my dress/nice casual piece with a couple of Panerai and a Sub as the daily drivers. Any thought would be appreciated. TIA !!!
Leaving your watch at grey dealer
Hi all, Im thinking to trade in my DJII at a grey dealer. The DJ has a chipped bezel and crown because I dropped them months ago. The dealer said they can take it for a trade in, but before they can seal the deal and come up with a proper offer for the watch, they need to send it to their watch technician so they can determine how big is the damage and figure out how to polish the bezel etc, and they need around 5-7 days for this. The dealer basically leave it up to me and ask if I'm confident enough to leave my watch with them. So my question is basically what things should I take note before I leave my watch with them incase they're going to swap it etc with maybe a fake one. I do read on another forum that some people dealt with this particular grey dealer before and no problem. But you know, better be safe then sorry ..
