Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite Dial Watch To Debut At SIHH 2015
It was at?SIHH 2013 that Jaeger-LeCoultre presented its Master Calendar, a?highly legible calendar watch that was inspired by a similar model the manufacture made around 1945. It offered the?date, day, month, and phase of the moon indications on?a nicely laid-out and,?indeed, very restrained-looking?dial. Two years later, for SIHH 2015, we are seeing an updated version that?more-or-less does away with the clean?looks, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite Dial.An almost completely renewed look: The original SIHH 2013 release with its more restrained dial is seen to the left, while the new model to be debuted at SIHH 2015 with a meteorite dial is on the right. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite Dial remains in its 39 millimeter wide case. For those intrigued by its?design and array of complications, but not necessarily by precious metals, it will be good news that both the original and the 2015 versions are available?in pink gold and?steel.?Regardless of case materia
Gavox Aurora Review
Gavox is a brand we've talked about a few times here on worn&wound. Whether making Type XX inspired chronographs for the Belgian Air Force, or riffing on Marine Chronometers, Gavox has a tendency to surprise with their watches. Despite their young age as a brand, each model has achieved something new and different, and frankly been very attractive both aesthetically and financially. Well, their newest watch, the Aurora, is a game changer for the brand and an industry first. On the surface, the Aurora might look like another twist on an aviator watch, but lurking inside is a movement unlike any other we've come across. It's a Soprod Mecatronic movement that was developed with Gavox to their specs and desires. So what does it do? Well on top of telling time it has seven different modes, including a chronograph and perpetual calendar to name just two. It's basically like having the functionality of a digital watch, but with an analogue layout and controls. When you switch between modes
Swatch Switches Gears, Plans Smart Watch, Says Wall Street Journal
For the longest time, Swiss executives had pretended that the looming Smartwatch category would have little effect on their business. But today, the Wall Street Journal reports that Swatch will add fitness capabilities to some of its touch line of watches. The products will be first shown in 2015. You can read the WSJ's full analysis of this apparent change in course for Swatch right here.
the 3 Panerai made for their die hard fans
Panerai made 3 special watches for what they call the Paneristi.Long ago the 195, than the 360 and now the 532.All 3 of them are or were VERY hard to get. Some say you had to be selected. The 532 won't probably be another story. Allocated via the Paneristi website or being a well know Panerai client will probably be the way to get one.I can't imagine John Doe will walk into a boutique or AD and be able to buy the 532The 195 abd 360 were immense popular, the 532 will follow the same path without questionThat aside, which one would you prefer ?The 195 and 360 are almost the same ( black 44 mm Luminor) or would you prefer to have the new 1940 model ?195360532The movement is a no-brainer. The 532 has the nice inhouse P3000 while the other 2 had a simple Unitas
