Montblanc TimeWriter 1 Metamorphosis Watch Transforms
There was a lot of excitement at Montblanc in Geneva for this watch. They only had one of them?at SIHH and it was in a case. Still a prototype but I got to check it out a bit. In a nutshell, you press down on a lever on the left side of the case and the watch dial magically transforms into something else. Not only does the look change, but more importantly the functions do as well. One face shows the time (regulator style with?retrograde minutes) and the date, while the second style is a chronograph. In the included video you can wait through most of it or skip ahead near the end when they discuss and show some rather funtastic special effects of the TimeWriter 1 Metamorphosis watch. You not only get a good idea of how it works, but of how complex it is. They put all this effort into the video and it isn't even in English - the bastards. The TimeWriter watches will be a growing collection from Montblanc magical workshop in Villeret. The plan is to give the young and eager watch makers t
Free Swatch Automatic Chrono Watch Giveaway
A new month and a new watch giveaway - this time you have a chance at winning a free watch from probably the largest Swiss watch maker, Swatch. The ubiquitous watch brand is the poster child of the Swatch Group, that timepiece that made Swiss watches cool again back in the 1980's. Swatch has come a long way and now has a great new line of automatic chronograph movement based watches, known appropriately as the Swatch Auto Chrono line. There are 5 new models, and each contains a brand new ETA automatic chronograph movement that is based on the classic Lemania 5100. See my review of another Swatch Automatic Chrono model in the same collection here.aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer is giving away one of the pictured watches pictured above, it is known as the Swatch Automatic Chrono "Simply Pure." It is about 45mm wide, has a sapphire crystal, stylish, and comes on the black rubber strap. I will be reviewing a different version of the new Swatch Automatic Chrono watches here soon. Patek Madness (now 4)
Hi everyone,Just last month I had an opportunity to pick up 2 more Pateks BNIB from the AD -they are both pieces that I thought were good ways to build a stronger relationship with my AD without losing much if any money. They are still both unworn. Feel a bit funny since I'm sitting now on 4 Pateks.Current collection is now:5167a Aquanaut - On bracelet and on black deployment rubber with brown rubber oem as well.5711a Nautilus - White(New) 5711r Nautilus - Rose gold - Paid MSRP(New) 5130r Worldtime - Rose Gold - 15% discount off MSRP (interesting since this is a discontinued model)I am in no hurry but it seems that in the end, the 5711 White and the worldtime are the 2 pieces i would probably end up with (one for dressy casual and one for formal) and wear my rolex GMT 1675 as the beater. At the same time, I am wondering whether I should hold on to the 5711r long-term (safe queen), wear it (take off stickers) or sell now. With the aquanaut, seems that prices are now around $24-$25k and r
Looking for AD in So Cal or Vegas
I'm planning on buying a 5167. Im in the Los Angeles area. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good Patek AD in So Cal or Vegas? Also, can you expect any discount on a watch like 5167? Thanks in advance.
Pre Ceramic Submariner v Milgauss
I am in the search for my first Rolex and I am trying to decide between a Submariner and Milgauss (White Dial) i am leaning towards the Milgauss because it is different and you don't see aof if then in the wild especially the with the white dial. But my concern is the fact that they are unpopular and not sure if the value will hold up. The submariner I think may be the smarter choice but is pretty common. This will probably be my first and only rolex so the decision is pretty difficult. Opinions please and thank you.
