Welcome to aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer's annual holiday season watch giveaway. Each month I offer a single watch for you to win, but this month you have a chance seven (lucky) chances to to win. The rules are exactly the same as any other month, but this month I will simply choose a winner for each of these seven watches. If you win, what you receive will be randomized - which makes things a bit more interesting.Up for grabs are seven very competent timepieces that I know you will enjoy. First is a Phosphor World Time watch with a great e-ink Display. It retails for $150 and you can learn more about it from Phosphor right here.Next is a Casio Pathfinder PAG-240B-2 "do anything watch." If you don't have a Casio Pathfinder in your collection, you are really missing out. Proven to be very popular, this mechanica
AP Jumbo 15202... Steel or Red Gold
Hi Guys,Need help deciding between the AP Jumbo 15202 Steel and Red Gold.I really like the weight and look of the Red Gold with blue dial but the original steel version is also to die for.The price of the RG is obviously much higher but given the choice based on looks alone which do you think is better. Here is a pic of the Steel Jumbo, unfortunately did not click the RG when I tried it on.Thanks
BPH seem low with AP
Please smack me senseless when I ask this.... This is just a total newbie question...I see a lot of watches showing higher BPH like 36000 by zenith and many other watches touting 28000. The APs are down in the 21000 from what I have seen...Why are they so slow? While I would agree that faster doesnt always make it better it seems to be a modern standard and that AP is behind in terms of the general market. Can someone enlighten me on this? The more technical explanation the better for my nerdy self...
Finally got my blue Seamaster 300 M GMT!
I looked high and low at GMT's...really a tough decision. I finally settled on either a Sinn, Rolex GMTII or the blue 300M GMT. After seeing the 300M in person I quickly ruled out the others. The fact that I have a Sea-Dweller and wanted something a little less pricey and different looking made me go with the Omega over the GMTII. Here's a few pix...enjoy everyone! It's stunning in person!
Aquanaut date wheel sticking
Looking for an opinion here. The date wheel on my 5167 Aquanaut sticks from time to time and doesn't roll over fully. Making a minor adjustment to the date will fix it and it works fine most days. I'm not sure if there's a pattern but I think I've noticed this happening around the 17-18-19th of the month.Questions for the forum: 1. Is this a known issue with this movement? 2. I still have time on the warranty. Should I send it in? Only hesitating because Patek says it will be 5 months if work's needed.
