Formex 4Speed AS 6500 GMT: Race Watch For The Sky
Formex is one of those great watch companies that makes watches you are happy exist in the world, even if you don't want one. Anyone can graciously appreciate the design of these relatively reasonably priced watches that embody a unique stylized blend of form and strength. We are glad that companies exist out there to create such wildly niche products that are sometimes over-the-top, but appreciable at least in a "that's so cool" type of way. As though a passionate watch maker decided the world needed such watches, as opposed to a committee of business people deliberating market demand and cost efficient concerns.Formex makes "racing inspired swiss watches" that each have the "4Speed" name attached to it. Scratched my watch!
It had to happen!I don't mind the scuffs from desk diving but I finally scratched my PO - on the polished bit too. And of all the places in the world it had to happen - it happened - believe it or not, in Vietnam, whilst I was on holidays, inside a tiny tunnel the Vietnamese guerillas created during the War.Anyone else have some funny stories on where/how they scratched their watch?Sorry - cannot upload the damn pic... so will try again soon.
what do you think of the new smp 2012?
though i like what omega is doing, i think im through with 44-45mm cases.sadly, with the 8500 calibers, almost all of omegas offerings will be huge watches.the only one that i would consider is the new smp.ceramic bezelno wavey dialstill 2500 caliberscrew not pin in bracelet.about the same value pricingconsidering these for the moment, i still prefer the old blue bond smp.so i guess it would be skip omega again.what are you opinions on this??
