My First Grail Watch: Matt Smith-Johnson
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we are touching base with another member of team ABTW that you likely are not familiar with, Matt Smith-Johnson. Read on to learn about his true first grail, how his grandfather got his interest in watches started, and what he calls out as his holy grail watch.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Matt Smith-Johnson: Hey there! My name is Matt Smith-Johnson, and I'm the Art Director for ABTW. Additionally, I am the owner and maker of Teenage Grandpa watch straps. Along with those responsibilities, I'm also a freelance Creative Director based in Toronto.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?Matt Smith-Johnson: This may sound ridiculous, but I cannot remember a time where I wasn't fascinated with watches. I have been told that when I
de GRISOGONO Power Breaker Chronograph N08 Watch Available On James List
In my opinion de GRISOGONO is a pretty interesting and yet under represented brand (at least in the US). I am not familiar with their entire collection, but some of the stuff is interesting. A watch that epitomizes their sport piece collection is the oddly named "Power Breaker." In gold, it has a name that sounds like a piece of construction equipment. That or a WWE wrestler.A lot of this stuff just slips through the cracks. This "N08" Power Breaker Chronograph watch actually came out last year. In 18k rose gold, the case issquarish and so GRISOGONO. What does de GRISOGONO even mean? I love the watch strap. Looks like part of a Stillsuit the "Fremen" wore on Arrakis in Dune. You fellow nerds know exactly what I am talking about. Though I could easily like without the "Power Breaker" logo on the side of the rubber strap. Sounds like something that would be applied in purple lightning graphics on the side of a souped-up Dodge Ram pickup truck.Wait a minute, de GRISOGONO is thinking along

RO diver sizing
Lately I have taken a liking to Audemars RO Diver. In the past I didn't feel I could wear one because they always wear bigger and I have a smaller (6 3/4 inch) wrists. I tried on a RO offshore chronograph (42mm) and it was still a bit large but doable . Does the RO offshore diver (42mm) wear any smaller? Does anyone with smaller wrists have the diver, and if so can you submit photos of how it looks on a smaller wrist? Thank you in advance.
Next Twist in the Colletion Journey
Hi all, looking for some more thoughts, insights, and opinions from the wonderful members on this forum. Some of you may have read my recent thread about making my DD 18238 my daily or main watch. I can confirm this is what is going to happen. It will be a watch I wear most of the time. The next step now is to look at the my remaining collection. I have also come to realize I really prefer smaller or traditional sized watches. I have determined I will buy a Rolex datejust 116234, fluted batons on an Oyster bracelet. To do this I must sell one of my Submariners. I own a 114060 Sub C and a 116613 LB ceramic Bluesy. So this is the question, which one should stay in a collection with a YG DD and a SS Datejust? I am struggling with this one.....as I love them both. The Sub C was my first Rolex and is more versatile IMO than the Bluesy. The Bluesy though, is a stunning watch and an icon in its own right. Part of me thinks whenever I want to wear something a little special with some gold the
