Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Silicon Escapement
Montblanc presents the chronograph in its seminal form and makes it state of the art with a silicon escapement. Nicolas Rieussec registered the world's first chronograph for a patent on in 1822. That first “timewriter” is reflected here with disks that turn beneath motionless hands, as the chronograph’s inventor intended. Rieussec sought the ultimate in accuracy and reliability, and this limited edition is true to that history with a movement in which the lever and escape wheel are fashioned from silicon. This piece will please those who love history as well as those who want the latest in technical innovation. Like microprocessors for computers, certain movement components can be etched from paper-thin silicon wafers. The DRIE (Deep Reactive Ion Etching) method combined with silicon’s inherent properties offer optimal conditions for manufacturing tiny movement components. Silicon is 60% harder and 70% lighter than steel, highly resistant to corrosion and entire
Helson Shark Diver 42mm
Readers of worn&wound should be pretty familiar with Helson, a relatively young watch brand that we've had the chance of reviewing in the pastspecifically the Sharkmaster 1000 and Skindiver. Both were handsome and able-bodied timepieces and our newest model in for review is no exception. The Helson Shark Diver comes in 42mm and 45 mm case sizes with bronze, titanium, stainless steel, and PVD coated stainless steel build options. In addition to the case designs, a bevy of color options and a choice of movements make this series of Helson watches accessible quality at different price ranges. These timepieces are built tough, easily readable, and combine tool functions with handsome aesthetics to make for a seriously nice piece of wrist candy. The model in for review today is the Helson Shark Diver 42 mm Stainless Steel 2824-2, a watch that sits nicely in the middle of the Shark Diver family of watches at both price point and spec designwith more expensive models being those with bro

So, I guess I'm going to join the club!
Well I am officially getting into the world of AP. I found a like new 15300 white dial. I am so excited I can't even stand it. I have been going back and forth between the Royal Oak 15X00 and the Breguet Big Date. And the 15300 won out, I figure it is a good of time as any to pick one up as they aren't going to get more plentiful! Ok, so this is a somewhat useless thread seeing as I have no pictures yet, but I just had to share my excitement with my TRF buddies! Will post pics when it arrives.
5164 for 116619 (Smurf) ???
Hello all,My current small stable consists of a 5980r (gold on croc), 5164, 15202 and 116610lnI like the 5164 and it wears quite well but I'm toying with the idea of flipping it for a 116619 Smurf. I do like the 116613 but simply cannot pull of the all gold look at the office and while its a great piece I would be extremely limited in when I can wear it.I feel that the Smurf may be quite versatile and I would most likely move the 116610 (as having both is a bit redundant for me)...not sure what I would then do as a travel/beat around piece as the 116610 serves that role quite well now.I would appreciate hearing any thoughts on the above. I'm open to to suggestions as well on what to replace the 116610 with if I make this move.TIA !
