Modest restoration of an old time favorite, The Seamaster
With Ruben's permission of course I'm posting these pics for your viewing pleasure. Who doesn't like a restoration? Well this is the Story. Ruben was looking for someone to restore his friends watch, and I contacted him to let him know that my partners and I are into restoring Omega cases. He sent me the watch and the rest follows as pics. Thanks Ruben! Omegas are fun and challenging to restore but when you do it right, the results are worth the hurdles. Maybe Ruben has a before pic. I only have a few disassembled before pics. This watch was also serviced and fitted with a new original crystal.
Help deciding on which Milgauss
I'm looking to purchase my first Rolex and am drawn to the Milgauss for a variety of reasons even though it is not usually the most popular choice especially as a first Rolex watch. I was fortunate enough that my local AD had both the blue and black dial in stock, so I was able to compare the two. I'm still debating between blue or black dial, but am slightly leaning towards the black dial GV. This is where my question comes in. What are your thoughts on the original style black dial GV with the dual color lume vs. the new style black dial GV with the single color lume. Also, does anyone happen to have seen both and have an opinion on brightness and longevity of each? Finally, I realize that the dual-color lume would require buying second hand as it is no longer made. I'm guessing that since it is pushing 10 years old, it would be due for a servicing immediately upon buying unless I was fortunate enough to find one that just got serviced? Any difference in buying M/V/G/Random serial?
Adding a sub to the collection
Firstly Hi - this is my first post For the past few years I've mainly been into Omegas (mainly due to not being able to afford a Rolex). However recently I was lucky enough to purchase a Coke GMT which I love . However, I've always fancied a Sub and I've been offered one that has peaked my interest. Which I think is a no-brainer decsion..... but I just wanted to check that my man-math adds up!I've been offered a 14060m 2003 no B&P, includes a watchfinder receipt, it was also was serviced a year ago by Rolex and comes with the warranty card with a year left. I can purcase it for GBP 4k. I figure at the price I can't really loose and if I dont get on with it and I can sell it for roughly what I purchased it for - this would pass my man math and wife test! What are your thoughts? Thanks, Mersh
Rolex case back carnage #5
And still they come, 5 different case backs .... It has me wondering ... Why??
Went to see my AD today, WOW!!!!!
I stopped in Brown & Co Jewelers in Roswell, Ga. this afternoon to pick up my new to me TT Datejust and was amazed to see the number of SS professional models available in stock. They had Subs, GMTs, Explorers, Milguass, TT & PM Daytonas, and more. Ask for Jenna, shell take good care of you.
