Watches NEWS
Ok, so I THINK I know the answer but....
I just got a white dialed Rolex Datejust a couple of months ago. To the dismay of my wife, I'm thinking of adding another nice watch to my household. [Hey, I just turned 52, complex anyone...?] Anyway, I want a black dialed moonphase chrono. So, there is the Omega Speedmaster, or the Longines moonphase, costing about $1,500 less. Gotta get the Omega, right??
Uh-oh....
OK- so here's the deal: I recently 'acquired' a minty-mint 2008 Speedmaster Pro 3570.50 from a buddy here on TRF (Thanks again, Bill!) as a kind of weekend/workhorse watch- aka something to wear that's maybe a little more 'casual' than my ss/plat Yacht-Master.So- I get the watch, head down to the Omega store on 5th Avenue in NYC and have a black rubber strap with white contrast stitching on a deployant buckle attached. ($405!!!)The customer service is fantastic there... no 'tude, and knowledgable, nice people! Glad to be part of the Omega forum now, too-So...to the uh-oh part. The Speedy is probably the most comfortable watch I own, and has been getting a lot more wrist time than the YM. I'd go so far as to say I actually enjoy wearing it MORE- for both looks and comfort.Just wanted to share this Saturday morning, and will post pics soon.... have a happy Holiday everyone!
Seamaster Pro is to slow :(
My seamaster 2255.80 is runing about 11 seconds slow a day right now.. I got it with a blank warenty card.. So I really dont know when it was produced If it is time for a service or just needs to be regulated.. Help on how to figure the age of my watch.. Thanks Chris
Can I push the buttons underwater
Maybe this has been asked before. But........ Is it safe to push the stopwatch buttons on the Speedmaster underwater. F.ex. for timing when swimming?
Cyclops
Random question here. Anyone know what the limitations are to making a cyclops crystal for Rolexes from one solid piece of sapphire crystal. My understanding is that they currently are two pieces correct? I think for watches as iconic as Rolex's, it would have been something already figured out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
