Movement Hands-On Series Episode 2: A Movement Conceived And Made Entirely By The Same Independent Watchmaker
Welcome to the second installment in our?Movement Hands-On series, an irregular series of articles where we scrutinize and analyze unique and?interesting?calibers.?In part?one, we took a close look at the highly unusual movement of the MB&F HM6 Space Pirate here,?and today, we continue with the work of another - although in some important?ways?very different - independent watchmaker.Whereas the?high-end watch industry has for long been?largely based on?the co-operation between?specialist craftsmen C working either within the company or at external suppliers C when it comes to independents, most all of the tasks are performed in-houseand for just a handful of independent watchmakers, those tasks are performed not by dozens or even a few, but by just one craftsman. Looking for a 5167 on a bracelet - any advice?
New to Patek, really drawn to a 5167 on a bracelet. Anyone have any advice for search, pricing, things to look for when buying? Thanks!
Patek 5711 or 5712?
This has come up many times before on this forum, but not since 2014. I'm wondering how thoughts have changed.I have an opportunity to but either a 5711 or 5712 new from AD. Both in steel (blue dial) and both on bracelet. Really struggling which one to choose as what I like about each is also what I don't like about each (relative to one another). For instance:5711I love the plain dial, but worry that the plan dial is too boring.Love the understated look, but worry it's too understated.Like that it is less money, but is it inferior because it is less money.5712Love the complications, but don't really need any of the complications.Love the asymmetrical dial, but worry it's too busy.Like that it is more interesting, worry that it I will like it less as time wears on.Curious what the current sentiments are out there now that both of these references are extremely difficult to find at AD.Any and all help/thoughts are appreciated. Especially from those that have also gone through this excru
116610LV Hulk Availability - Is it Getting Better?
Has anyone noticed if the 116610LV is arriving at their AD's more frequently? I recently was able to be placed on a list for the 116610LV and I was told that it might be less of a wait than originally anticipated.
