Watches NEWS
Mitt Romney's Election Time Wrist Watch
In November of 2012 the United States will hold another presidential election and if you are like me you are wondering, "what watches are the candidates wearing!?" Fortunately I don't vote based on watch preferences - which would be silly in this country because the watches our candidates wear are actually political signals these days. And by the way, my interest in the watches politicians wear is purelynot political.President Obama has been wearing the same watches for several years - being the Jorg Gray JG 6500 watch that I reviewed here. Obama is fiercely loyal to the watch having worn it since he was campaigning back in 2008. It was a gift from the secret service, which in turn ended up being a gift for Jorg Grayfrom a business perspective. Click on the link above for the full story on what happened with Barack and his Jorg Gray timepiece. It has become Obama's distinctive watch, and he is seen wearing it most all the time when he is in a suit.I don't know when it started but I wil
Tutima M2 Pioneer Review
Tutima is a brand we've talked a little about here at worn&wound. We looked at the history of the brand here, and pined over the Grand Classic Chronograph UTC here. We've always liked the tool watch aspect of the line. While the brand is remaking itself and offering some more refined models in conjunction with their move back to their historic home of Glashtte in 2011, they haven't forgotten their military roots. The venerable German brand can trace those roots to 1927. During World War II, the brand made something of a name for itself when it was one of a handful of companies making flieger watches for the German Luftwaffe. Post-WW II, Tutima was subsumed into the Eastern Bloc's watchmaking industry. However, the founder, Ernst Kurtz, had escaped to the west and started over in Saxony. Dieter Delecate, a former associate of Kurtz's, eventually took over and led Tutima into the modern era, traversing the mine field of the quartz crisis as he did so.Part of the secret to Tutima's su
RO - Lug to first link alignment
Hey allhad my 15400 for about a month now (new from AD) and love it.one thing i started noticing yest is that the 1st link off the lug drops out of line from the lug itself - the photo shows this easier - see the red lines.now it might have been like this from day 1, but i only became aware of it yesterday due to the fact that if i run my finger along the strap towards the lug, i notice a step up when i hit the lug.admittedly i have a smaller wrist but i cant tell if this is something thats happened during my ownership of its its always been like this.can 15400 owners please let me know what they see!thanks all!
EXTREMELY upset!!!
My friend has several Rolexes that he takes to a place where they fix watches to get his watches sized and what not. Instead of taking it to the AD that charges 25, yes 25!!! to get sized he told me to take it to his friends watch place who will only charge 3. so I did got it sized (removed 2 links) when I got the watch back on the sides of the links and around the area where the links were removed are scratched up and even have a few nicks in some areas on the side and back of some of the nearby links, even the clasp has a scratch on the side. what kind of half ass job was that?????? I didn't notice till after I got home. Not only that but it seems on one of the link holes they put their own pin in there. I am furious!!! So now the clasp has a small scratch on it, the links on either side of the clasp (the small one connecting it to the main links and the ones that are directly connected to the clasp) have dings and scratches on either side. As for the other links I dont care because
How do I know what my Rolex is and its value?
I have a Yachtmaster Superlative Chronometer officially certified watch. Says Swiss-T-25 at the 6 . I am having trouble uploading a picture. It has a light blue face and the band has the numbers series 455B. Can anyone help me identify this watch?? Thank you
