Greubel Forsey Takes a Subtler Approach with its Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision
The name Greubel Forsey conjures up many images among horological connoisseurs but classically simple dials and elegantly thin cases are probably not among them at least until now. With the release of the Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision, the 11-year-old brand founded by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey proves that it can do “quiet” just as well as it does “loud.”Introduced at SIHH 2015, alongside such super-complex timepieces as the new GMT Black and QP Equation, the Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision drew immediate attention for its comparative simplicity. However, it would be a mistake to characterize it as the most “ordinary” piece in the brand’s lineup (who knew we’d ever get to a point in the watch world when any watch with a tourbillon could be considered ordinary) the renowned Greubel Forsey inventiveness is indeed on display here, only in much subtler ways, for the most part.Of course, there is the de
14th International Chronometry Congress Considers Time and Sport: Technological and Human Challenges
The 14th International Chronometry Congress of the Swiss Chronometry Society meets September 28-29 at the Salle Stravinsk in Montreux, Switzerland. This year’s theme is “Time and Sport: Technological and Human Challenges”. During the Congress, about twenty lectures will be presented to over 500 watchmakers, technicians, engineers and professionals. Selected presentations will summarize the latest technological innovations regarding chronometry. Others will allow participants to enter an athlete's mind by questioning his relationship with time. The Congress is proud to welcome important athletes including Erica Reymond Hess (Alpine Skiing), Stefan Volery (Swimming), Magali Di Marco Messmer (Triathlon), Ren Arnoux (Formula 1 racing). In parallel with the Congress, and in light of the success of the exhibit that took place during the 2009 Journe d'Etude, the Swiss Chronometry Society will organize a new exhibit about sport watches, which will be open only to those atten
Anyone else like faded bezels on a 16710?
Got this bezel from my watchmaker a few years back - was on the 16710 on his wrist and when I asked if he had anything similar, he simply popped it off and handed it to me. Couldn't just take it from him, so traded my black bezel in return. While the black bezel was original to the watch, I really don't care or miss it, because I love the way it looks now and will never have the black bezel on it, nor will I sell. I will, however grab a replacement black bezel when I pass this along to my son in the future, just so he has all 3 bezels.
DaytonaC Desperation
I am lucky in that I have this.........But I am absolutely desperate for the black dial to go with it. So I just wanted to say even though I have a lovely white dial Daytona I still feel the pain of not being able to get, at retail pricing, the next watch I want.I also want the new Rolex Pepsi and BB58 but the Daytona is the one I cannot stop thinking about!
SD43 tristate area
I just wanted to let anyone within the tristate area know that Leonardo's in Red Bank NJ just got a SD 43 in today not spoken for as of 10 minutes ago. Already have mine! Ask for Lourdes or Michael and tell her/him Kyle sent you if interested.
