Major auctioneer Christie's is currently running their first ever "online-only auction," "The Essential Watch Collection" These days, we're all accustomed to researching watches online, and then, very likely also buying them online. Major auctioneers have for a long time been trying to get a piece of the "eBay pie," and the plan is to approach the sale of vintage watches online by offering a curated, safe environment where watches are vetted by professionals and available through a trusted source.Christie's isn't outright saying it, but "The Essential Watch Collection," populated with 22 watch lots is a test. every now and then i will feel the urge for something new... whether to flip or add, i'm not sure, but i narrowed it down to these 6 choices and just for fun, i'd like to see what the forum thinks:1. Black themes (previous generation without the red highlights)pros: i have it mounted on a rubber strap so it's both sporty and elegant at the same time. matches anything. if i stick to it, i don't have to spend a dime.cons: sometimes i find it dull and devoid of personality. very 'safe'2. Steel rubbercladpros: cool and sporty lookingcons: i would only want the H series with the updated glossy dial and white gold AP logo and chrono rings and it seems hard to find. also not as formal looking3. Authorized dealer damaged my rolex
Hi there,Looking for advice please. See pictures below. Bought a datejust 5 months ago and took it back to the jewelry store to move a link. The person that worked on it deformed the screws, scratched the links and left a screw partially out. The store manager wants me to bring it in and said they can probably buff the scratches but that will not be acceptable in my opinion. What do you think? Thank you.
