Patek Philippe ref. 5104 Brings $576,000 at Antiquorum Sale
On Thursday June 10 bidders watched as Antiquorum’s New York Spring Sale generated $4,511,268. The auction room was filled and 420 bidders registered online. Eighty-three percent of the 364 lots offered were sold, and 114% were sold by value based on the low estimates. Bids came in from Italy, the Netherlands, China, Israel, the Russian Federation, Japan, and the United States. The highlight of the sale was a Patek Philippe ref. 5104. The platinum minute-repeater with skeletonized dial (lot 363) had not previously been offered for sale, and it included the original fitted winding box. Following competition among room, online and telephone bidders, it went to a private collector for $576,000. One of the reasons the heavier ROOs never fit well for me was because the strap fit wasn't right but with the shorter strap the hole configuration works better, its not that I needed the shortest strap just the hole alignment worked.So yeah here is the 44 RG. Just picked it up. I had my issues with the steel model but giving it another run with RG. Literally just took this out of the box, didn't even get back to my car before wanting to take a snap. Going to travel with this for a month and with the carbon. I still love my carbon to death.I'll be staying away from the forums for a while. Hi guys, I hope you can clarify this for me as it's really making me lose sleep....When I think Pepsi:The Blue/Red, BLRO, etc. pattern becomes pretty obvious to me.But instead when I think Coke:Where is the Black/Red color combo ?!? More like Red/White methinks...Where is the moniker coming from then ? (Because the Coke Zero is much more recent than the Fat Lady....)Please help me recover my normal sleep and clarify this to me.Thanks !(This post can also be called Slow Day at the Office....)
