Top 10 Affordable Watches That Get A Nod From Snobs
You don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money on a timepiece that will earn you respect or even praise from a dedicated watch snob. While most "lower-end" watches will not satisfy the particular attention to detail or value that serious enthusiasts are keen to notice, there are a number of superlative "everyman" watches that will nevertheless garner a nod from the horological elite. Why is it, however, that watch snobs are hard to please? Are they merely measuring up other watch lovers by how much money they are spending? It often appears that way, but that isn't the precise truth. Although it?was as early as?January 2014 that we debuted the F.P. Journe lgante (hands-on here), it is only now that the first quartz movement equipped wristwatch from F.P. Journe C one of the?undisputed greats?among today's independent master watchmakers C finds its way to the U.S. market. It was on this occasion that, in the F.P. Journe boutique on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills, we sat down with Francois-Paul Journe for what turned out to be an hour-long conversation?about the finer details of the F.P. Journe lgante and the movement inside of it.There were many different questions that we had?prepared prior to the conversation: how one of the most?respected traditional watchmakers of our age ended up making a quartz movement; how involved he had been in the process;?what his approach was to what is generally?accepted to be a "soulless" alternative to mechanical watches with a beating heart; and, last but not least, what makes this quartz movement special? What stood out to me?

Omega vs Breitling
Hey everyone... Debating between an Omega 46mm Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono (blue dial, blue rubber strap) and a 44mm Breitling Bentley GT or 46mm Navi World, again blue dial/blue leather strap... No, I don't dive, and no I'm not a world traveler, I just like the the larger sized chronos and the blue/blue is a must for me So, any thoughts between the 2? Better watch, brand, finish, movement, resale etc...Thanks for the help
