Urwerk UR-105 TA 'Turbine Automatic' Watches In Fancy Colors
With the new-for-2015 Urwerk UR-105 TA collection, the Swiss brand is making one of their most appealing timepiece collections even better. In 2014, Urwerk first unveiled the UR-105M watches which introduced a great new design as well as a new entry-level price point for the brand. The next model in the family is the Urwerk UR-105 TA "Turbine Automatic Knight Watches," which extends the range with not only new visual styles, but a totally different movement. Whereas the UR-105M was a manually-wound timepiece, the Urwerk UR-105 TA (UR-105TA) contains an automatic winding movement (Urwerk's "Turbine Automatic" system). Why "Turbine Automatic?" Well, most Urwerk automatic watches have a oscillating rotor which is connected to a set of turbines that visually spin with the rotor. Part of this is just for fun and showmanship, but it is also part of a system which allows the rotor to spin either easily, with a bit more resistance, or to stop it all together (when you expect the Urwerk UR-105 T
Inside The Manufacture: A Look At Piaget's Geneva Headquarters
A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of visiting Piaget's headquarters on the outskirts of Geneva. While Piaget's movements are still made out in La Côte-aux-Fées, all other operations from design to casing to bracelet making to gem setting are done right here. Today we bring you a tour in photographs through this amazing facility. Roll-over each photograph for a brief description of what you are seeing. In-house movement for 26320/26331
I saw an interview on YouTube where a journalist asked the president of AP if they were doing a in-house movement for the Royal oak chronograph. He said it's already done we just need to figure out the best way to roll it out. I am wanting to buy a classic 26320st but wondering if I should hold out. I like the same size subdials in the 26320st compared to the 26331. Do you think they will stick with the odd size subdials if they go in-house and two tone dial? Do you think In house will lower the value of the 26320st or will it hold strong? Is no in house movement a deterrent for anyone else when considering the 26320? Although I do like the F piguet movement and appreciate it. Thanks for any chit chat about the issueJosh
