In the late 1930s, Panerai created a few examples of the Radiomir with a unique dial design. Today, only two examples survive. Why they were created is not known. Their history washed away with the Panerai archive in the Florence flood of 1966. The new Radiomir 3 Days Platino picks up this dial design, which has never before been revived. I just got finished using a German proxy server to trick Sinn's website into thinking I was viewing it from their homeland. Why did I do this? To get the price of this new 857 collection watch for you. Sinn apparently uses geo-locating to protect their prices from being viewed by potential buyers outside of Germany. Probably because those prices vary from country to country. Nevertheless, I am still going to tell you the prices as that is only fair.To my knowledge Sinn hasn't hard-launched the new 857 and 857 S watch collection yet. Though, the pieces are right up there on their website. These are a more simple version of the existing 857 UTC models which contained a small central GMT hand. What the 857 really is however is an upgraded and larger version of the 657 and 657 S - a watch I proudly own but simply do not wear any longer as it is too small. Date change/sign of service need?
Hello everybody,Long time lurker in need of a little perspective. This subject has been posted here ad nauseam (I read most of the threads before posting this) but I didn’t quite find an answer to this:I recently purchased a GMT Master II 16710 from 1991 from a very reputable dealer on the west coast. Watch runs perfectly, very stable, not slow nor fast. I’m currently in Europe and because of the time difference I happened to be awake to hear the date change a few nights ago. When I looked, it wasn’t midnight but 12:14 and it’s been consistent every single night at the same time. Since it’s consistent and the watch is running fine, I’m assuming that the watchmaker who last serviced it, wasn’t careful enough to set the minute hand properly. My question is: despite the watch running well, could this lateness in the date change (consistent and all) be an indication of deteriorating lubrication? The dealer has offered to have his watchmaker adjust
