Gustafsson & Sjogren Winter Nights Watch
Only 10 pieces of the Winter Night watch will be produced by the Swedish team Gustafsson & Sjogren. In a way this watch is the accumulation of everything they have been working toward. That being a totally Damascus steel case, dial, crown, and movement plate. You either love or hate the look of hand-folded and forged metal. While not something I would wear on a daily basis, I find Damascus steel to be beautiful. Pretty much everything in this watch is produced in-house at GoS. That include the large movement plate (the rest is not in-house), and most of what you see and touch. The hands and hour indicators on the dial are done in 18k white gold, while the steel case are lovingly hand-made as Gustafsson would make a blade. Price is $19,000. Incoming...AP Diver
Just purchased a brand new AP Diver, special thanks to Takuya for a smooth transaction and great customer service. I started wearing it yesterday and I noticed its running about ~+12 seconds in 24 hours. Is that normal? Should I be concern or just monitor it for a few days before sending it to AP Clearwater for service? My 15400 is running much more accurate.
Look what's arrived...
I've always fancied a Hercules and recently this one's come into my possession. Quite an impressive watch I must say. Really solid feel and, I hope you agree, a beautiful white dial (apologies for the iPad photo). I don't think many were made and, at the time, I think these were Breitlings biggest model coming in at 45.5mm diameter. I'm not that familiar with chronos and I'd be grateful if anyone could explain the lower middle sub dial which, unusually, has what looks like a minute hand and an hour hand. Also, when the re-set button is pushed the left subdial (24hr?) doesn't seem to zero, I wonder if it is supposed to. The main hand set consists of the usual second, minute and hours hand but there's a fourth hand with a small red arrow that seems to track the minute hand but I'm not sure of it's function. Any enlightenment will be much appreciated.
