Price help please
GuysI have an Omgea midi that has been my daily wearer since 2005. It does have the usual desk marks and the clasp seems a little stiff. It also has a mark on the bezel near the 5 past position. I have included detailed pictures as I honestly have no clue of what I should ask?Your help is much appreciatedThanksMartin
Modern it is, but which one
Recently I ran a current of threads in regards to getting a Patek Philippe dress watch. My choice was either a vintage or modern Calatrava. On reading what other members said, I have decided to go for a modern piece.I have been searching for a couple of months now, but prices here in the UK are a lot higher then in Europe and the USA and the choice is nowhere near as good either. I really envy our US members for the huge choice available.I can't make my mind up on whether to buy automatic or manual, date or no date!I have a maximum budget of approximately 12,000My wrist size is 6 ? inch.Whatever I decide to get, it must be a complete set.I am setting a poll, to see if this helps me make a decision. Here are my choices1) Brand new from dealer a 5196J 37mm2) A 3998R 34mm from 2001 Patek service history not known.3) A 3998J f 34mm from 1991 with a full Patek service in 2013.4) Alternative Patek Philippe dress watch (please name)Thank you for taking the time to vote.
Anyone here bought a Patek they never saw in real life?
Just a simple question. I'm hesitant as I recall I loved the way a Rolex 16570 white looked on the forums. I was in love. Went to AD with cash in my pocket, tried it on and blah. Didn't work for me at the time. So, I'm just curious how many, if any, had bought a Patek without seeing it on your wrist first.
when you notice a piece has been discontinued...
Hi guys. I've been questioning the implications when a piece is being discontinued. Will it more valuable in the future? Is it better to wait for their successor? Having a diacontinued model makes service cowta higher? I am obviously talking about new in box and papers if you happen to stumble upon them and not pre owned. Two references that come to mind, and have forced me ask this question are the 5960p and the 5980 1a. What do you feel when you like a reference and suddenly find out its being discontinued?Thoughts? Thank you guys.
