Seamaster GMT problem
Hi(Apologies for the post length but the full story may help)A couple of years ago my 50th anniversary model GMT developed a problem, the 12 hour hand was moving on intermittently and did not jump one full hour when crown turned. The guy who usually looks after my watches was too busy so i found another repairer quite local. Watch was serviced and all appeared well but after several weeks i noticed the date was changing at 0600 hours. I sent it back and it was rectified but after a few weeks it was doing the same. This went on for a while but communications broke down between us so i just wore the watch as was.The 12 hour hand is now sticking at 1000 and twitches but doesn't move on. The guy i know is not as busy now so has the watch but he can't seem to identify the problem. He is well experienced (50+ years) but doesnt use the internet hence me seeking advice. He has replaced the 24 hour wheel, setting wheel and experimented with various tensions on the date change wheel. He

Price increase imminent?
I guess it is futile to ask, you either know the answer to this question and can't post it here, or you don't, but I will ask anyway. A little guesswork and discussion never did any harm.Anyway, in another forum I came across a thread about dive watch A vs dive watch B. I did a a little research and found that one of these watches, an Omega costs almost as much as a new Submariner. To my thinking the Omega is not in the same league as a Submariner but the price is uncomfortable close. https://.omegawatches/en-us/w...ction/catalog/So, what gives? Is the Sub under priced? Is the Omega overpriced? Are they in fact equivalent watches so it makes sense to price them similarly?Given this situation and the fact that it is very difficult to get a new Sub, then I suspect the price of a new Sub is going up soon. Do you agree?
The beginning of the end?
Not for the first time I’m hearing and reading that Rolex are looking to position themselves in the Uber luxury segment with reduced production likely to increase pricing thru demand. Currency fluctuations aside we haven’t seen a price increase for a number of years but the trend is there for all to see with preowned prices and if the reduced output strategy is only Half true I wonder if the end game may well be in sight for many more.Of course one could assume that others will fill the void, Omega ,JLC and IWC etc etc will no doubt step up and their watches will in turn increase exponentially until they too are symbols of ultimate luxury. Of course Nomos and other entry level watches will then fill that void and become the sought after brand of tomorrowI admit i may be being a little bit pessimistic but in an odd sort of way i’m largely done with Rolex for myself and any future buys will be gifts for my wife and daughter. In truth I’ve probably got all I coul
