Watches NEWS
Hands-On: The Cl de Cartier Women's Collection
It is not news that Cartier released their new collection, Clé de Cartier, earlier this year. HODINKEE actually did a wonderful review on the men's collection in February – however I want to further explore the women’s pieces in the collection. 1 OF 11 You may have noticed that women’s watches are having a moment. With brands focusing the majority of their marketing towards attracting female buyers, women are wearing watches more than ever. Additionally, fashion editorials are featuring wristwatches in more advertisements and accessory spreads than in previous years, and not just women’s watches, men's watches – think pink-gold AP Royal Oaks and Panerais. 2 OF 11 Cartier is one of the most influential and recognizable brands in the industry and has a rich history of producing classic women’s watches. The chances are very high that Cartier was the first watch brand that you ever heard of – that or Rolex
Getting Ready for the F1 Season to Start!!!
I can't wait for the Formula 1 season to begin. Looking forward to the Australian Grand Prix in two weekends. Already honoring my all time favorite driver Mr. Ayrton Senna RIP. Anybody else follows F1??? Anyone attending the next race in Australia???Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Watches are the new currency!
Am I crazy for wanting a 3750.50?
As the thread title reads, am I crazy? I've always loved the looks and history behind the watch but never took the plunge. I guess you can say my experience and my friend's experience with Omega haven't been the best in the past. Granted, my problems were with vintage pieces that kept breaking but his problem was with a modern WhiteGMT that kept stopping AND he was one of the unlucky owners of a stubborn co-axial. But still, I really want the Moon Watch...
Omega Advice for Local Charity Shop
The Manager of Capability Scotland has asked me to look at this Omega that was handed in. She wants to know if it is real and what is wrong with it. Having taken the back off, I think we can say that it's a real Omega Date Quartz watch and going by the serial number dates to 1979. When turning the crown, there is a grating feeling and only the hour hand a date move, the second and minute hand do not move when turning the crown. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Brian
Patek Steel quality, Website and Brand direction
I recently purchased a sub after being torn between the no date and Aquanaut (for those interested look for my thread titled Aquanaut vs Sub ) but had a few questions regarding Patek steel quality, website and where the brand is headed1. The Rolex just had more of a shine to it than the Patek. I am guessing this has something to do with 904L Steel that they use? Does Patek use 316L? Anyone know anything about Patek's steel quality?2. Also does anyone else think Patek's website is a little bit too 'clunky'? For a brand this big shouldn't they invest in a better website? Brands like Rolex, VC, ALS and AP have great websites I am surprised Patek dosen't3 And lastly, does anyone think we will see bolder, younger models from Patek? A lot of people can't afford PP Complications and Super complications- when their existing customer base for those watches eventually dies out how will they attract the younger smartwatch wearer to the brand? I think they need to be looking into more entry level
