Speedmaster Decisions & Advice Please
Hi All -A Rolex guy trying to increase my Speedmaster knowledge! I am happily hunting for a Speedmaster. It will replace my recently sold and loved 16710 and be worn Mon thru Thu at the office. My 14060 Sub owns my wrist from Thur thru Sun. I am liking the idea of those 2 icons as the platform for my rotation. A Zenith Class Elite earns church and suit duty. I prefer to buy here or on TZ - but not much available now. I hear jmryshi is a trusted seller on the bay and below are 2 listings I am targeting at the approx $1800 range.Questions:Anything look wrong with the below listings?what is the difference between the 3570 and 3590?I have the flip sickness - which Speedmaster (of any) will be the easiest to resell?Should I consider the Broadarrow?A million thannks!!! 3570.50cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT3590.50cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
texex91 (Paul) could use our help
Hey everybody!!texex91 (Paul) just mentioned he was considering getting a new Patek. Now trying to be helpful, I mentioned the following:From talking with you I think the 5890 would be a nice watch for you. It has a bit more heft, and the case is thicker than the 5711/1A. The bullseye is pretty sweet too.But if your feeling real froggy may I entice you with a 5960P? If I remember correctly you can get that in either a grey or blue dial. However since I am only a rookie, I probably missed a few good ideas. Please be so kind to help Paul with his new hunt. Please feel free to post some pictures whenever possible.Paul could use our help, I'm pleading with you.Cheers,Dan
Tudor BBB/rose
Thanks to a lightning fast transaction with fellow TRF member, Wembleyisgreen, I added a newly acquired Tudor to the stable today. Was received with the standard black strap, as well as a this nice brown leather one. (and a green NATO).Personally, I am a fan of the black/brown combos and already on the list for a TT black/brown GMT.
Another My Dads Rolex and Japan RSC inflexibility..
So below is my Dad’s Date that I bought him for his 80th birthday. Had it engraved on the back from me. He passed away three years later and it was passed along back to me.I had it serviced just under 6 years ago at the RSC here in Japan. Quite expensive, complete overhaul and new clasp.Fast forward to today. I finally decided to change the white Arabic dial to blue Arabic. 42,000. Found out the price in a catalogue at an AD. It took me so long to finally decide to change the dial because you know it is my Dad’s watch and I didn’t want the RSC to take the white dial as they often do and not return it. I was assured by my buddy who works at a grey that they won’t take it. So I race down to the RSC today on lunch break with my Dad’s Date.Yes they will replace the white dial for blue and they will return the original white dial. 42,000.So far so good. Then the counter person and then later one of their watch repair people both INSIST that I must have it se
