Patek Sky Moon Tourbillon Brings $1.2 Million at Patrizzi Auction
A Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon in yellow gold, Ref. 5002, sold for $1.2 million at the Patrizzi & Co. auction in New York on October 7. This is the highest price paid for a wristwatch at auction since the beginning of the recession. The watch was purchased by a customer in Europe. CEO Osvaldo Patrizzi said “In the current global recession, this $1.2 million sale result is extraordinary. This auction demonstrates that while demand for mid-level watches for collectors is softening, extraordinary, very rare, limited-edition pieces are still in demand and in some occasions increasing in value.” Mr. Patrizzi also noted that aside from the Sky Moon Tourbillon going to Europe, the other top pieces in the sale went to bidders in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Westime Beverly Hills?
Do they have a decent stock? I'm going to LA in a couple weeks and I want to see some APs in the metal.
Omega to Breitling
Gents,Recently purchased an Omega Speedmaster racing with the yellow. Spent around $4,700 on the piece and could not stand the watch once it left the store as it pulled the hair in my arm and was very uncomfortable to wear. The Jewler said I could switch it for another omega or a Breitling. I'd really like to stay around the same price...maybe around $5,000. Good options? I currently own a new ceramic sub and a Tag heuer blue regatta. The watch has to be new as this is an authorized dealer. Thanks Gents.
5712/1a
I have an opportunity to purchase a mint used 5712/1A from an Authorized Dealer for 24,900. They sold the watch new in Oct 2016. I had my heart set on a 5711, but I like this one too. Looking on Chrono24 the least expensive used on has an asking price of 29k. Thoughts, advice or concerns before purchase? Thanks.
