Caseback question
So I recently put some money down on a 42mm 2500 Planet Ocean at my Local AD. I got a fantastic deal on it better than used prices are going for here so needless to say I'm pretty happy so far.Now for the question I see that the new 42mm Ceramic models have a clear caseback. Would I be able to have my AD actually order a clear Case Back from Omega and install it on the watch? I wasn't sure if case sized are anything were different from the 42mm 2500 to the 42mm 8500. Any tips would be great thanks
Is this my best incoming teaser thread yet?
Start the guessing everyone. There will be some clues along the way!
Coming back to the fold -- 372 or 504?
After a long hiatus, I'm trying to get back into watch collecting. The only watch left in my stable is an IWC Portuguese 5001 in steel with a black dial. I used to have a 111, but sold it to fund other things. Now I'm itching to add a Panerai back to my collection. My first thought is perhaps the most obvious choice: the 372. That said, I'm feeling the itch to be a bit more adventurous. The 504 caught my eye. Generally, I prefer the base models or those with sub-seconds. I'm also biased toward in-house movements because I'm that kind of snob. Let's further assume this will be the only Panerai in my collection. What is the right choice? The 372 is close to winning out, but I wonder if it's too pedestrian to represent a manufacturer/brand known for unique special editions. Thanks!
Sky Dweller question
2 questions for you all: (I apologize in advance if this has been asked here) is there any logical reason why the fit of the sky dweller is tight/snug as compared to other models? I have the easy link open and have the pins set to the farthest setting but it still feels tight on. For such a big watch I feel like Rolex made the bracelet small... not sure why. Being that the SS model is new, most of my local ADs don't have a link in stock. I am being quoted 4 weeks turn around time upon ordering. Also, what is the reason a YM2 SS is significantly more expensive than the SS SkyD? I feel like the SkyD has more features than the YM2. Plus add the gold in the SkyD, the pricing doesn't really make sense to me- of course unless there is something that I am not taking into account?
