You might want to consult with your horologist about your current levels of Orthorhombic titanium aluminides. They might be dangerously low, or even, "gasp" not present. If you are Orthorhombic titanium aluminides deficient, not to worry. Richard Mille's new RM022 Aerodyne Dual Time Zone watch has got JUST what you need. The HODINKEE Shop Now Carries Watch Winders, Strap Changing Tools C Plus Ten New Calfskin Straps All Available Now
Over at the HODINKEE Shop we’ve been expanding our repertoire, and today we’re proud to announce that we are now carrying watch winders and strap changing tools. In addition, we’ve stocked some killer single-layer calfskin straps in 10 colors and two sizes, as well as two new leather travel rolls. See below for full details. Watch Winders We’ve tried a lot of winders, but we keep coming back to Swiss Kubik. They are among the most quality winders we’ve encountered, with several beautiful finishes and nearly silent winding. Now in the HODINKEE Shop, we have five Swiss Kubik winders available: 1 OF 19 The Startbox is the most affordable winder option at $460, and features a sleek black finish. 2 OF 19 The Anodized Silver winder features a modern silver finish, and is available for $795. 3 OF 19 The Wenge Wood finish is one of our favorites, featuring a rustic wood finish. Aqua Terra cal.8500 & new Silicon Balance Spring
Does anyone know if the recent production of AT's with the cal. 8500 are equipped with the new silicon balance spring? A local major AD told me the one she was selling had it, but another major distributor told me they are not out yet. Upon examining the balance wheel/spring through the exhibition back, I noted the balance wheel was black, but how can one tell for sure it's the silicon spring? Any help would be appreciated.
Patek: Service, Production, Values and the Company
It seems to me that there are quite a few threads in them with themes about where Patek stands today with respect to;- production quality and qc- service quality and times- the products- what collectors feel about direction of the company under Thierry- the PP seal- volumes of manufacture- investment/residuals/depreciation... and so on and so on.I resolutely feel that all these themes are interrelated and for this reason I wanted to start a consolidated thread on this forum where we could all give our two cents about the state of the company.I don't believe that this has been done yet hence my attempt at this thread and with that being said, I I'll go first.I'll start by saying that I will not consider ANY other watch manufacturer for any product over $25,000. No chance. I consider Patek today the pre-eminent watch maker with an unmatched brand and in the vast majority of cases, an unmatched product. But I have a problem and this problem is OVERPRODUCTION. I believe that PP are produ
Bit disappointing today
Well apart from the new GMT II SS I think overall the releases were a bit of a let down.GMT II - Everose and TT Ok I supposeRedesigned D Blue - Nothing special, bit of an amendment and nicer lookGem enhanced Daytona - A real specialist taste watchNew Datejusts - A little bit variety with dials/colours You can see why they are tightening controls on SS models with only one additional new release.
