Giveaway: Nixon Steelcat Watch
Nixon, the California-based watch brand, wants a lucky aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer winner to wear a Steelcat timepiece for the rest of the summer. The Steelcat is a large 48mm wide, steel cased watch available in three styles. Inside the watch is a Swiss quartz chronograph movement which also has the date. According to Nixon, the Steelcat is made for the "waterman's life." Funny since steel sinks and cats tend to dislike water. Though as a diver, it is water resistant to 300 meters so perhaps sinking is a good thing. It certainly has a fun surfing flair to it. Attached to the watch is a custom silicon strap. Price is $600 - $650 depending on the style. Winner gets their choice. Enter for a chance to win one below. To Enter You Must: 1. Comment on this post below (on aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer, not Facebook or elsewhere you might see this article) before the giveaway is over with your valid e-mail address where required. Introducing: The Patek Philippe 5170R C The Classic Manually Wound Patek Goes Rose Gold
Okay, so nothing super new here, but this is the type of thing that will get a hardcore PP guy going C the 5170 has been shown in rose gold! The 5170 is, for the uninitiated, the classic manually wound, two-register, in-house chronograph from Patek Philippe. You can read a full review of it here. So what's the deal for the 5170R? Essentially you have the same watch as the last 5170G with black dial and leaf hands, but now in a rose case with silvery opaline dial (5170R-001), and black dial (5170R-010). The 5170G with white pulsation scale is now discontinued, though the black Breguet dial is still in limited production. 1 OF 2 We've got the same superb in-house, column-wheel chronograph, that same 39.4 mm case, and all the fixings you'd expect with a Patek of this stature. Price will be exactly the same as the 5170G, or just north of $80,000. More here and here. 2 OF 2 Follow us during Baselworld on HODINKEE Live, available on desktop, mobile, or in the free

Year of this Breitling?
Hi, yet another identification question. This was my father's Breitling, I don't know the year. Any information about it or link would be appreciated.Like all of Dad's watches, it's in need of cleaning! I think he may have bought it in the late 1960s or early 1970s. He wore it often.
1957 trilogy case dimensions?
Really excited that all of the models are under 40mm diameter. What are the damn heights!!!???
