Three Decades of Shocks: Casio Launches 30th Anniversary G-Shock Models
In 1983, Casio launched its first G-Shock watch, a product that reinvented the image of the digital wristwatch and, with its unprecedented shock-resistant case, revolutionized watch case design as well. This year, the Japanese brand kicks off a year-long celebration of its most iconic timepiece leading up to the G-Shock’s 30th anniversary in 2013. The first wave, introduced at Casio’s “Shock the World” event in New York last week, is a quintet of limited-edition models in some of the most popular G-Shock styles (“the best-selling styles over the past 30 years,” according to Casio America chairman and CEO Shigenori Itoh), all sporting distinctive red gloss or matte red finishes. Identifying each of these new watches as an anniversary piece is a special caseback with an engraved 30th anniversary logo designed by graffiti artist Eric Haze. The most noteworthy (and most expensive) piece in the anniversary collection is a version of the popular Frogman mod

Omega Sedna Gold And Sochi Games Limited Edition Watches Announced Pre-Basel 2013
Omega?is clearly prepared for BaselWorld 2013 and has announced three new limited edition models in advance of the show, which takes place in April of this year. The most interesting part of the announcement is the debut of a new gold alloy they call "Sedna". The first of their timepiece announcements is the Constellation Sedna, a ladies' sized Constellation crafted from this new alloy. A mix of gold, copper and palladium renders a case that looks very much like rose gold and exhibits a strong reddish hue. Being comprised of at least 75% gold, Omega is claiming that this Swatch in-house alloy will better sustain its rose gold tone. This sounds like Omega's answer (once again) to Rolex's Everose gold alloy. To match the case, the Sedna comes fitted with Sedna alloy hands, markers and tang buckle. The Constellation Sedna is 38 mm wide and its unique alloy case houses an Omega in-house co-axial 8501 automatic chronometer movement. The movement, along with its Si14 silicon balance spring, c
PO 8500 Pins and screws
Instead of the pins that were pushed out from one side to the other, Omega updated the new 8500 PO with this pin system. There are little screws covering the new pins. and these pins slide right out easily. No more pushing. The screws keep the pins in place - the pins keep the link in. No more messing with a pin pusher. Very easy. Here are the screws and pins and a shot of the screwed in link.Rob
